M!C's Showcase

Post by M!C »

Ok, I switched back to my original texture pack and started uploading pictures of several different projects of myself and some friends.
Sadly my router is striking more often than working atm so it'll probably take quite some time to get this done.

The information about how complete projects are and how long they took so far are guesses so don't take them too seriously.
All projects listed here were built legit and up until now without any mods. I currently use Misa's texture pack btw.

Maps
The picture of the entire map is over 60 mb so I had to split it into three parts and leave out lots of it. Over 50% was empty space anyway so that's probably for the best.
Atm the projects are more or less randomly placed on the map (except spawn and castle) but we got plans for that to change with vMC 1.0 (our mother of projects so to say).
We will be trying to create an entire medieval themed world with villages, harbors, castles, ruins etc. connected via streets, bridges and so on. You can see that we are already preparing for that. ;)

Part 1 showing spawn, castle, volcano, both traps, water way, railway, moria (yeah it's underground so maybe not showing ...)

Part 2 showing farm and ship (both for the final map) + secret new project (guess what it is ;) )

Great stuff you have there, keep going!

That is going to be one huge castle if that is only the outer wall though. Is all the cobble legit, or did you use mods/ copypasta for some parts of it?
If you ever set up a server with that in it, count me in to help :)

Thanks for the feedback guys!

As for the questions:

I used Google SketchUp for that plan there. I admit it's not the best solution but the only relatively fast one I have (once it's set up for minecraft).

About my lighting ... almost all of it except the stuff on top of the towers, walls and the stairs is for building purposes only ... I won't leave it like that.

And finally: Yes, all of this is legit (without mods), built by two people with way to much free time ;).

I'm looking forward to including BTW but that'll have to wait until it becomes SMP ...

Since map generation will be altered in 1.9 again and we couldn't wait to get to play minecraft again. My Friends and I decided to start a series of vMC mini-projects, some of which I will showcase here now (hence the title change).

So you're abandoning that huge thing then? It makes me sad. Always wanted to have something like that in my world.

I didn't say that I'd abandon it ... It's just delayed ... again. Something this big becomes boring after some time ... then you do something else .... and then you go back with new ideas.

Ok, I finished getting the images "converted" to the original texture pack.

Also: New project in the mix (lighthouse).
Next one is underway already.

Thanks Walker!

I just asked my friend ... he never played that game. ;)

Still, if it reminds you of some other ship you've seen it looks shiplike enough. ;)
Which is something we debated over for hours ... I said it was good as it is but he thought it was to narrow ...

Next project has been added btw.

I didn't count but we used over 20 stacks of eggs over the time ... and I went on a kill-frenzy inbetween ... so maybe 60 left?
