I do like such events, but having something that allows everybody to participates can be difficult.

For example;
A pvp tournament can be a lot of fun, but can be an issue for some players that do not have a solid connection to the server (those out of Europe mainly).

I do like events though, and some of the things I can think off are;

PvP tournament, we can have all sorts of setups for this using WG's arena!
Building challenge, where we set a target (can be aesthetically, functionally etc. for example a 1 or 2 story home, or the best windmill)

Can i join? I've never played BTW online, so i'm kind of a newbie, but it'd be great if i could join :D.

As the server has been running for quite a long time now, people have put a lot of effort into their builds and resource collections. As such, to avoid any possible issues with new members/naughty folk, I am placing some hefty restrictions on the white listing process.

Please note that only active members of the Sargunster BTW forums will be white listed from this point forward, for the foreseeable future to make my life a lot easier. I understand this might be disappointing to some, but well, C'est la vie.

Despite the current lack of connectivity to the server, I am not yet willing to potentially sacrifice the world as it is to unknown members. Sorry.
Times change though; So if at any time you feel like you should be on Edolas and can show that you are a good member of the community simply poke again or submit a request directly at http://www.facefoiled.com/edolas/whitelist-request

Edit: I submitted a whitelist request to the Edola-server homepage. This seems like a rather nice server, so i don't want to give up on it too easily U_U.

While I was on vacation this weekend someone did some illegal mining in my basement and has therefore defiled my dear and to myself quite holy home.
This is unacceptable, while I generally do not mind if someone takes a look around,
mining resources inside my home simply cannot be tolerated from my side.
To myself this constitutes as an act of griefing.
Also, while the area around spawn is mostly deserted I do still live there and will continue to,
generally one should ask before doing something to or in someones home since they might just be
temporarily not there and will or might come back.
By the way, my home is the one with the antenna on a tower by the ocean behind the market.
So, will the the person responsible please step forward.

Aarrrg! I am so pissed off now!
Just crashed on my way to the Ender farm. When I logged back in, I fell through the world, losing my battle axe, a looting and knockback scroll, my best armour and a great pick.
I hate how glitches in this game can cause you to lose all your good stuff in half a second D:

Heres some rules I came up with, let me know if theres any you want to add, change or take away:
1. Connect with your IGN and only your IGN, if you are caught connecting with a false screen name repeatedly, you will be banned until further notice(Changing your name doesnt get you unbanned, thats not how it works)

2.Show common respect, no screaming or screaching, no out right insulting eachother or being pissy.

3.There is currently no age restriction, but if it is felt that a member is too young to hear certain language or conversations going on, that member will be moved to another channel, or the speakers themselves will be moved to another channel depending on the situation. Just remember guys, not all of us are over 18. :D

Thats it so far.

The requirments are:

Its completely free for the client, so no worries.

2. Not really a requirment so much as it is preferred that you have a mic, its cool if you dont though.

I've not been online much either lately, silly Dungeon Defenders got me sidetracked. :P I did go afk a bit at Minidobs' golem factory, so have quite a bit of Iron now. Incoming Piston madness! ^_^

A message to Sleekjazz:

I recently was down in my mining area and noticed that a shaft that was driven to there coming
from your own mining operation.
Since I do assume that this was unintentional and part of it
was colliding with my old shafts anyway, who where made long before you set up shop next to me.
I have gone ahead and marked the borders of my territory with some cobblestone in the preexisting ones.
This should help in avoiding irritation where our respective properties borders are and give you a base for
measurements if needed.

Oh man, last night felt good. The framework of the first real building of Skycity has been started! Man, I really want to go home now to play :D I just started writing about my plans for it on my website, and wow.. I think this is without a doubt the biggest project I have ever attempted in Minecraft.

Whoop! First sawmill building working!..ish :D. The water channels are not perfect yet, some cut blocks don't go down properly yet, and the collection point is very .. temporary at the moment. :P but still, the saw's are working and more importantly, the water is connected \o/. All that is left now, is to finalize the water streams going to the collection point, and the water streams that go over the hoppers to fill the Block Dispensers. Well, and the collection point / wiring to make it all fancy. :P

Hoppers do work, just forgot to turn the gearboxes before taking the picture :P

Slight update to the server;

I have adjusted the available slots/memory down to 10 slots/1.5Gb again. This is based on the activity and memory usage over the last 3 months. As always though, if the server gets more active again, I will simply adjust the server to accommodate the requirements.

I just want to once more stress out that I have no plans to shut down the server at all, ever. If anything a second might pop up at some point :P. There are times that the server is very quiet, and that I myself don't play on the server often, but even then Edolas will always be online. The 10 slots/1.5Gb memory is simply the minimum that I set the server to, when anything above that simply does not get used. This can always be adjusted on the fly to accommodate the need.

When BTW first went SMP, there were a lot of questions about the server world. Well, I have no plans of changing the server world, or resetting it for RTH in the future. I will likely just setup a 2nd server for RTH, so Edolas stays the way it is as a BTW server. This is all still in the future though, so let's just focus on pimping out Edolas for now. :P

And last but not least; I just wanted to once more thank everybody for their contributions so far. A simple "thank you" goes a long way, but over time I have received a lot more than just that. So thank you, I hope you enjoy your time on Edolas, whenever you get around to play. =)

:D Thank you for being an awesome server admin face, from the time i started to now every time i get on its like a step into a comforting place. To be honest, ive never kept a world for more than a month. Edolas has had my home for a long time now and i really enjoy jumping on and seeing all my old stuff. ^_^/

Edolas Teamspeak3 info: Lobby is the default channel and is therefore set to minimal sound quality
Low sound quality channels are:
Lobby- Is merely the go between, if there are multiple sets of ppl, its to keep ppl from getting interupted by ppl joining to go and talk in another channel
AFK- sound quality is low here because ppl are away from keyboard

All other channels are set to max sound quality, except channel blue which is set to medium for those whom have lower end computer or the ones whose computers dont enjoy hi res sound and chop it up, I regret that I had not seen this problem beforehand and apologise, Channel blue is now set up for lower end users. Just send me a pm if there are any further problems, suggestions, or requests. Remember, the TS3 server is open to all edolians and members of the server, if this was not stated before it is now. It doesnt bar you from joining when your not playing on Edolas or MC. Feel free to use the server anytime your on your computer whether your watching a movie or playing a different game, whether its SR3 or Dungeon defenders. Also for those whom dont know, there is a filebrowser for ppl to share items in each channel. Just right click and select the said channels filebrowser(no porn ;-] )
