White and Black Blocks

Post by caramon770 »

So, I first installed BTW last night and it worked great. I loved it. Had to do some stuff with other mods, so I ended up re installing it and when I did, everything except the obsidian pressure plate (don't know why) simply showed up as white and black blocks. I can still use them, but I can't figure out why they don't look normal. Help please?

1. Are you using any texture packs? With the latest version of BTW (2.92), texture packs need to have the new textures that BTW use in a specific format. If so, check http://www.sargunster.com/btw/index.php ... ture_Packs, at least my add-on for JohnSmith and Battosay's texture compilation are both updated to work with BTW 2.92.

2. What version of Forge are you using? I think that at least 1.0.5 had some texture problems, not certain about 1.0.6 but at least 1.0.4 works fine.

Also, moved the thread to tech support.

Also, Optifine is not presently compatible with the Forge if you're using that.

A link to a picture of what these blocks look like. Like I said, they function, just don't look correct

I'll try and get it up on photobucket. I've never it before, so no promises there. Instillation wise, I installed ModLoader first, Forge version 1.0.6 next, and then BTW. The only other mod I have installed is too many items.

As mentioned by Urian, you could try using MinecraftForge 1.0.4, I have no problems with textures using that, I believe they have links to older releases on the forum page.

As there are no release or patch notes on the forum page, and everything works fine, I haven't seen a need to upgrade to 1.0.6 yet, so can't confirm whether it is Forge that could be causing any problems.
