Bread in a kiln?

The wiki says you can put flour in a kiln and bake bread, but I'm not having any luck. Even when I stoke the flames I don't get bread. What am I doing wrong?

Are you tossing the item into the kiln or placing it as a block?

Make sure you fully understand how kilns work. They need a constant stoked fire to work which means a hand crank and some patience or a turntable. Note that anything takes more time to cook the fewer hibachis you have under your kiln/crusable/couldron, and the cooking resets if you let your fire unstoke

I'm betting the problem is that he was maybe tossing bread into the kiln by hand instead of placing it as a block? If that doesn't work, then it's not stoked. If it is stoked with blue flames and bread placed as a block doesn't cook, then there is a problem with your install somehow.

Ah, I didn't know flour could be placed as a block :) Thanks.

I didn't realize who the OP was. Now it all makes sense.
