BTW has such a unique style of gameplay that when i tried other mods i used a long time ago, i didnt have a clue how to start. I quickly walked over to some pumpkins and thought, "yes! easy food!" but remembered i cant eat seeds. Then i went into a cave.. and saw the end of it, "oh right, light level 0 still is broken.."

Better Than Wolves has changed the way I play minecraft completely. And for that I say thank you FC, I have a feeling I won't die in a vanilla world ever again.

You will die in vanilla, but it will be to some bug or suicide creeper ;P

No, it will be a horde of zombies spawning just behind your back...

Actually no, i did just die.. but it was from a stupid decision to take on 3 skeletons at once with a stone sword and an iron helmet :P

Them stupid vanilla minecraft decisions are already kicking back in... darn..

As it's vanilla I wouldn't bother with the armour. An iron sword would have been better if you had the ingots.

I haven't played vanilla in a long while. However, when last I did I found myself attempting hardcore changes. Such as, keeping darkness set to "moody" and never using buckets of water to obsidianize lava at the bottom of caves. I even restricted myself to leather armor only. It didn't last long. Better Than Wolves returned to my jar almost immediately.

And yes, this attempt by Dinnerbone to make vanilla more challenging has only made vanilla more annoying.

Errrr, you can do that in BTW. Harcore buckets does not stop you from turning lava into obsidian.

Perhaps I did write that in error. I'm aware you can do this with hardcore buckets, however, you can't reclaim the water afterward. The point is that vanilla allows you to play with very little rules. And to truly play vanilla with any difficulty means instituting your own rules.

Dump the water on the ceiling or wall, you will have more time to reclaim.

I'm aware of this as well. Haven't used it since it's an exploit. Glad to hear FC is getting to this soon. :)
