[Solved] Problem with 64x Textures

Posted: Sun Aug 19, 2012 1:23 pm

Having a problem switching to 64x textures. Works fine on 16x default..
Texturer said that it could be a BTW problem, so I'm just wondering if anyone has any further information.
I've tried repatching and installing mods :\

MCPatcher version - 4.3.1_03 (Minecraft 1.3.2)
ModLoader for 1.3.2
BTWMod 3.92
Rei's Minimap v3.2_05 (Minecraft 1.3.2)

Texture Pack - in my signature
Ovo's BTW pack for BTW 3.92

Code: Select all

When exactly did this happen to you?

I already had hemp and a millstone and this exact problem only occured when I tried to place a handcrank.

I have a world set up with auto kiln/enderman farm in the end etc.

I had been playing with 3.91, but after upgrading to 3.92 I cannot enter the world with any texture pack other than default or 16x TPs.

It crashes just after MC loads.
I manage to see the hotbar, with Health, armour, hunger and experience etc, however it crashes just then.

EDIT:

I've had this exact same java Exception, when I tried to place a handcrank.
Seeing the line com.pclewis.mcpatcher.mod.CTMUtils.setup..
I figured a workaround would be to disable the Connected Textures Mod.
After I disabled CTM, it hasn't crashed.

I'll give it a try and edit-report back!

Edit:
Disabling CTM allows me into the world, but the water/lava tell me I need to patch (everything else is fine).

Installing the mods manually without MCPatcher causes a black screen after the Mojang logo.

Edit2: The following setup works for me

I had a similar error, but I couldn't even get to the main menu if I had BTW enabled with the HD textures and an HD pack active. Tried the order you posted, with connected textures added onto the end of it, and now all is working. Thanks!

If only I'd seen this post 6 hours ago, I would have saved myself so much time.
Actually, I did see it 2 hours ago but didn't think it was the same issue. Let this be a lesson to all noobs--read the crash log and maybe you'll see a pattern!

In case someone else runs into this issue and is overwhelmed by the crash log as I was, let me share the symptoms that I saw.
I was getting game crashes when I tried to 1) place axles in a horizontal position (i.e., place it on the side of another block or try to rotate it from a vertical position); 2) place a dirt slab... while using an HD texture and MCpatcher, which by default seems to want to give you CTM, of course.

Thanks folks, for sharing your knowledge! :)

I think I found another possible solution for the crash.

It seems to be related to the jungle grass ctm property file (block31a or terrain56)
I removed them and it seemed to work without any other problems.

What Texture pack are you using?

I'm using Misa's Realistic Textures, and it doesn't have ctm property files block31a, or terrain56.

I have tried removing some of the property files. But have not hit on which are causing problems.

Could you post in a spoiler, the text in those files? I'm guessing it's some combination of commands.

I was using the ctm for ovo's rustic redemption
here are the codes
block31
Show
source=/ctm/ctm.png
method=random
tiles=224-226
weights=10 10 10
metadata 2

Jungle Shrubs
terrain56
Show
source=/ctm/SMP_ctm1.png
tiles=80-83
method=random

Fern
I haven't used misa's pack to test this so maybe there is another property file that is not in the ones that i tested that is conflicting. The easiest way to test, is to remove all of teh ctm proertie files and test them one by one, although its long it works.

Hope this helps :)
