Server Texture Option?

I just noticed a new options in the MC video settings for "server textures"?

Anyone know anything about this? Is it what I'm hoping in terms of forcing players on a server to use a particular texture pack to prevent XRay hacks?

i dont have any refrences to point to but i beleive so. i remember this being discused quite a bit by the folks a mojang.... hmmm

There is an option to have your server give players the option to use your texture pack. There is an option for players to never be asked that quesiton (and therefore never be forced to change their texture pack).

Short answer, this won't fix the x-ray issue.

As I remember the comments from Mojang, it was more to give an easy way for server admins to distribute a communal texture pack for their server, as opposed to forcing everyone to use the same thing.

Eh don't worry about it big guy.
For the time being we will just have to be picky on who we let onto servers.
