While working on "Phase 1" I've realized that there's a mechanic I want in place before the functionality contained in it becomes available.

So, I just wanted to give a little heads up that I'm going to be working on a smaller release that contains a new block type before returning to work on Phase 1.

I suspect this shouldn't take me more than a few days to get implemented as I already have a page full of notes with all the details for it laid out ;)

Sounds like more automation possibilities/frustrations. I'm feeling like a child who's been promised delight :)

And again, without real reasons or hints what it could be, I´m scared.

So I suspect this will be a block that has use to us now? I can't imagine you'd give us something that wouldn't be useful until a future update like certain other people.

Oh no. Now I'm going to be useless at work trying to hide in the corner to check for a release every 10 minutes.

I didn't say "small", I said "smaller" :)

This is a significant feature that I'm sure will keep you guys very busy while I work on the larger "Phases". It's one of the reasons that I want to release it now, as not only is it tied into the different phases in a heavy way, but you can get a lot of use out of it now as well.

Well, 3 phases leading up to the Return To Home, which I think of as Phase 4 (it'll be independent from the others).

You know, I had forgotten about that bit. I am very sure FC had the use for hafts planned the entire time, though. I was referring to other persons, but... gah. Probably just best to bite my tongue now xD

Phases. You know what else that word applies to? Metamorphosis. And remember this quote?

I want to say that each time you give us these teases some of the excitement wares off, but that isn't anywhere near true.

So basically what you're saying is you forgot to put the part in about the mysterious thing that we won't have any idea what to do with for nearly forever?

Well, I actually have a long history of releasing things that don't have their planned use in the mod yet. Some of those things (like Tanned Leather) still don't have their intended use in the mod yet :)

Best one was Dung though. Oh how I laughed while everyone played with poo and tried to figure out what it was supposed to do, while it did nothing at all :)

But you're correct in saying that I always do have a planned use when I put something in, sometimes I just release the items themselves before the intended use to foreshadow upcoming features or what have you.

But yeah, this isn't such a case. This thing will have use now, and more uses later, so it's both present functionality, and foreshadowing of what's to come.

Well, because I'm such a nice guy, I did bury a hint I hadn't given before about the 4 points in the above posts ;)

Hmmmm... I'm not seeing it. Either it's extremely subtle or something that I'd already guessed and seems dead obvious to me...

Wolve Cubes! One of the points is the place where the first wolve cube was burnt on on an hibachi. The game will notice the place, and boom!
Or blocks of concentrated hellfire. something with that.
Now we just know that the 4 points will be just reachable with Btw content. If it creates one of the points, or leads us to them. We don´t know.

edit: nevermind. Got my thougts from the wrong reference.

But what does this tell us other than (maybe) that 3 of the points are somewhat similar and one of them is different from the others. I would consider this obvious given the previous hint and the ensuing conclusion that the points are the three strongholds and the spawn...
