Having the planks that come from it be different than usual is a good thing imo. And since you can create stairs and half-slabs from mouldings and panels etc., you're not really losing too much building potential.
You're not missing out on any building potential at all actually. All the old recipes work with the colored planks (even mixing colors), they just come out in the standard color.

No building potential lost, just very little gained. Any woodwork more intricate than 1 meter blocks still has to be done in the standard colors. And if you have trees that give off color wood, your 1 meter standard blocks won't match the color of all your more detailed wood.

But this has drifted into bitching specifically about a feature in vMC and not in Better Than Wolves. In point of fact, I noted that Better than wolves sort of solves this issue by letting you saw a colored block in half to get two standard color half-panels, which can be crafted back together into standard color wood. So any more discussion about that should probably take place in the 1.2.4 thread in off-topic.

Thanks a lot for the update FC !

I'm a bit worried though. You know why ? You don't troll us that much about the 10th of April release.
Are you feeling well ?

Anyway, you're amazing !

Don't worry. When 4.0 arrives, I imagine FC will want us to figure out all of its bounties on our own nearly. Then the trolling and musical hints shall probably begin in earnest.

I'm sure we'll all make it alive, but not psychologically unscathed... FC needs, after all, his army... How did you think he was gonna get it?

I remember now he said he wouldn't. Soooo, the troll already began.

But those updates satisfy our need for BTW already, so it isn't that effective. He might make us ready to get addicted to a new substance. Which gives the 'w' of BTW a completely new... green meaning.

Enough with the off topic, sorry about that, your trolling is already too good FC...

By the way, I liked the patch note about you removing Mojang Code. That made me laugh a bit :p

This is totally unrelated to this release but I just wanted to say it somewhere, since I just got back to my old btw world: The reverse recipes for the miniblocks (siding corners etc) are a HUGE life saver. :]

I envy how directly you solved this problem. Forgetting completely about cutting them, I tried to wash the blood off with soap in a cauldron stewing pot.

Sorry for the delay Batto. Got distracted by the Dwarf Fortress discussion and with thoughts of starting my own studio.

Excellent video, and I've added the link to the MCF OP ;)

You should make a suggestion thread for that one ;-p

Heads up. Jeb just tweeted about a 1.2.5 update:
The team requested more time to work on 1.2.5, so the prerelease will be out tomorrow instead. Official release still next week
https://twitter.com/#!/jeb_/status/185385565024292865

The reason for a pre-release is to get the MCP and bukkit guys some time to update.

Nope, nope. 1.2.5 it not a real update. It is just a myth, don't worry FC you won't need to update anything. :)

The thing is if they're still working on it how can MCP get ready? There's no point if the actual release is going to be different.
