Hey guys had a thought while collecting dung from my wolfies
would it be possable to make a coal block?
Reasons
1 for storage (same can go for nethercoal?)
2 for heating the stewing pot for shot peroids? so u dont have to get nether rack so earley to make tanned leather
but u cannot use the bellows with it and it lasts say 2 minutes?
Its for people who havent reached the nether and need to make leather and donuts?
also can make nether blocks as well for longer burning peroids with special effects?
or maybe just storage

1. Meh, not a huge deal either way. 2. Nope, FC wants us to go to the nether, not find reasons to put off going there. 3. FC also can't just make all these different storage blocks, else we will use up block ID's.

Well, the idea is supposed to be that you goto the nether before you start the cauldron stewing pot branch of the tech tree.

...that said, why not just use wooden planks if you're desperate? Yknow, instead of suggesting two ideas that have been suggested a hundred times before.

I'm pretty sure it would require its own block ID for your second suggestion, which it's definitely not worth.

Yeah, making the tech-tree dependent on the nether is an intentional design decision. I'm unlikely to change that.

It was national ninja day yesterday, I hardly noticed. ;)

Plus I think there was a reason FC hasn't done any extra vanilla storage blocks....

Bottom line is that a coal block isn't required to fuel a cauldron long enough to tan some leather if you have enough wood to feed to the flames. Just keep plunking new planks down and occasionally hitting it with flint and steel. There's nothing in the tech tree that is very expensive to produce this way that doesn't require nether resources to begin with.
