attaching rope to fences

i find it annoying in minecraft that 2 fence posts have to be joined with another fencepost, and cannot be connected by anything else. as this mod adds rope, it seems right to be able to attach 2 fence with that, not only to make it easier, but to make it look good. there could be a maximum amount of rope that could be attached between 2 posts, either 5 or 3.

am i the only one who wants this?

I'm not sure I understand you exactly, but what I got was that you want something to act as a fence, but not be a fence? Because if I remember correctly, fences now connect to blocks as well...

i didnt read over what i wrote and it make no sense whatsoever. what i meant was that i want fence posts to be joinable with rope, which would then act as a fence itself. does that make more sense?

Yeah, that makes more sense. But I don't really see why its needed, unless you just don't like the look of fences. I would like to point out that rope looks similar to fence (I thought they even used the same texture, but maybe I'm wrong) and this would be therefore little if any improvement. Yeah, I like the idea, but it just doesn't seem like it does enough to warrant time being spent on it.

To me this would only make sense if you could tie up a boat to a fence with rope.

But I'm willing to bet this is a bit of a pain to implement, so yeah. Other than that there is no real point to this.

in 1.9 the fences attach to all blocks, so it would be actually more important to get the fences not to attach to the ropes...

It would be a cool addition if you could connect them diagonally or downwards/upwards !
It would also make them looks like rope bridge fences.

But it is completely aesthetic ;(

Even if he is in a good mood, I don't know if Flower will consider adding this. It would look good.
I can't think of any non-aesthetic use for it.
