Dutchtopia represent? Kinda amazed how many of us there are here.

Anyway: Dutch, English and currently studying Japanese. I can also understand some basic German, but please, for the love of bunnies, don't ask me to speak/write it.

English, Yorkshire, and tongues.

I'm great at learning languages, but I'm much better at forgetting them - so pretty much any non-english I know is more or less useless outside recognising random words said by tourists.

Swedish, Finnish and English without any problem as well as varying degrees of German, French and Czech. I've also studied Spanish, Russian, Mandarin and Welsh but they didn't really stick so I only remember the basics.

WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS!?
*insert meme picture here*

Seriously though, I'm rather curious to why anyone would want to learn Dutch, considering it's probably one of the ugliest languages in the world, not to mention one of the most difficult ones. (The fact that various grammar and spelling rules change every 5 or so years doesn't really help much either)

Greek and English mainly.

I also have an ex-Grundstuffe in German, but that was more than 15 years ago, so I can't say I remember much.

I can also fool people into believing I speak japanese, but whenever I try I run into people who actually do speak japanese. You know who you are :P

Ok, poll is set up finally.

I chose the languages mostly by their respective number of speakers worldwide summarizing some in one answer, leaving out others. I'm sorry if I left out a language you speak.

Anyway we'll see quite soon if I made a poor choice when the tenth answer is voted for too often. ;)

I speak German and English btw. Oh and I studied Latin but that's not a language you speak, it's a language that you translate ... sentence by sentence, sub clause by sub clause, word by word, letter by letter (ok, maybe not that).

In a sense it is (that's what answer 10 is for).

If it were on this list it would have had a chance to get it's own option.

German obviously and English.
Although speaking English is a bit rusted on my part, from a lack of opportunity to use it.
But understanding it works just fine, since I watch Videos and Series in English language
quite regularly.

Haha, nowadays it is called Zertifikat Deutsch and it is the lowest certificate in German, but way back then it was called Grundstuffe, only spelled with umlaut which I have no intention to try and find in my keyboard :P

Out of curiosity, recent politics excluded - what's the light hearted stereotypes Europe (and the Americas) have about Brits - is it as I would assume, repression and being bad at football (soccer)
