And the server has been updated to 4.11. In addition Flight has been allowed to avoid possible issues with platforms/elevators (thanks for the reminder abyss). However! - If I catch anybody actually flying, I'll boot you. =) Flying around is a pretty big nono in my book, so please don't abuse this.

At the moment, the fly detection can't tell the difference between someone standing on an entity and someone cheating. Without flying allowed, you can't ride a platform or stand on a windmill/waterwheel without being kicked.

Well, after much head-scratching I seem to finally have this beast under control. The brief version is that player movement, unlike everything else, is pretty much handled exclusively on the client. Platform movement on the other hand, is server-side.

I'll also have to keep in mind in the future once the mod goes SMP, that servers will likely boot clients for "flying" while riding on Platforms ;)

Not sure if this is still an issue, but I was told it might be. =)

It was in 4.01, not sure if it's still an issue. Just meant that you had to climb the ropes instead of riding the platforms to go where you wanted.

Also, with HCB, is it considered an exploit, if say when your mining, and u find a ravine or find ur self in a high place to use the water stream from a bucket to get down lower?

I would hope not, thats a releif, I didnt ever leave the source block i just used it for mining, saves time and effort of mining down or bringing couple stacks of ladders. sweet

So something just happened..

I asked the support staff of Multiplay to "clean up" my server. By that, remove the old Bukkit Plugins and world files that are no longer in use (full backups on my pc at home).

I get poked about a restart, check it out and see someone from Multiplay stopping and starting the server. So I poke them, "wtf are you doing" and get this reply;

Unfortunately when making the changes you requested, there was an issue with your world. I have restored the latest backup taken today at 06:25, but all changes made to your world since then have been lost.

This would be a rollback of roughly 14 hours. I'm well pissed off about this, incompetent gits. Not even a fucking "sorry".

Apparently not a recent one, as the moron restored the backup that was made this morning. I can provide a backup from pre-BTW, but thats the best I can do.

ive been looking for a btw server for a bit and ive applyed to other as well but its boring since there no body ever on :P and non whitelisted servers ive been on and major lag or a major griefing problem :P so i look again found this and well here i am posting this now.
What I know about the mod: all most nothing i played it in 1.7.3 but havent really played it since then. but thats what wiki's, youtube, and other player are for right

If I remember correctly they are a large hosting provider, so that what happened is a totally unneeded tragedy that
should not happen with that size and amount of money charged.
Truthfully, if something akin to that would happen where I work, all hell would literally break lose,
not even trying to joke.
Also a frigging sorry would have been the least they should have done, I agree with you there, not that one should be needed in the first place.

That with the needed revert to pre btw nether is truly unfortunate.
