On a semi-related note, I started playing MC BTW again recently after a few months of other games, and am loving the changes that have gone on since then. I finally got enough SFS blocks last night to build something cool, just have to figure out what. Also with the dragon orbs, I built my first ever enchanting table and enchanted my first mattock.

Tis very purdy indeed, you know what? This means we have matching 'Somethings'. ;D

That's certainly a neat way of implementing it. Would you mind going over how it was done? I'm thinking about building it in my own world...

it looks much nicer than the one in the vid. the redstone does just cramp everything up. All in all a very nice job flower. :)

Could the pistons be used to push down the glass (with a second piston behind them to push them over the glass), to maybe stop some 3 block tall mob from getting into his world?

you know, I've just realized, unless the ones on the other side of the portal (assuming it IS a portal) have another method of sending things across dimensions, they'll have to have got to the same tech level as steve, and considering that they'd have needed to harvest the souls to make the portal, that could make them just as evil as we are...

now, WHY would we need to be sent to the overworld?
I can think of three reasons (two of which are similar but with differing implications)
a) the inhabitants of Home are nice friendly people and steve was so evil they just needed to get rid of him, no matter the cost (hence the noble sacrifice to make the steel for the portal)(in this case we'll rise from the portal with the inhabitants quivering beneath our steel boots.)
b) the inhabitants are evil and you were the worst of the worst, resulting in you needing to be exiled to the overworld as a prison (so our portal attempt is an interdimensional jailbreak)
c) (this is the most disturbing implication, and getting more and more likely with everything FC says/shows)
remember that FC has said that he sees the overworld as the enderdragon's XP farm, and that we should consider WHY the overworld seems so strange physics-wise
in the case of a and b, you were sent there to die as a punishment for your sins, what if you weren't being punished?
what if we were sent there as a sacrifice to the dragon what if we were sent there, because we just weren't evil enough?


FC mentioned we were going to need to forget everything we knew about MC, that he wants to bring the challenge back, that he wants to make it "Fun", and that his favored method of playing is anarchy (and that in SMP he'd be building around the assumption that it will be played in anarchy).

think of all of these things and ask yourself: Do we really want to open the portal?

Judging by the distribution of the particles, I'm guessing he just threw an Eye of Ender, and he's built this directly over a stronghold.

the particles are from a nether portal.look at the dark spot at the top right. whit the right age of camera you can get the same effect whiteout showing the nether portal.

You know FC, the reason you aren't getting the appreciation you want for this expensive platform build is because you didn't post it in the show us your builds topic!
