I haven't played there for a long time, but it still makes me sad..... I loved this server.

Well, it was a good run. But the server is to dead for me to justify the upkeep (and I don't play enough to keep it running for myself anymore either). It will cease to exist on the 27th of December. I will make sure to have the world downloaded and hosted elsewhere to download for those that want to check it out.

For the couple of months i was active on this server i enjoyed it incredibly. Although it was beyond my control I truly regret not finishing my castle build and submitting it, since work has taken over my life for the past couple weeks. It was good times, and i CERTAINLY will be downloading the server when it goes up to expand my existing builds without any reservation. It was a fantastic run guys, had a great time :)

:D You're just going to burn down the underground village ! xD Imma have to make a base run video with the dl. New computer is up and running (clicky kbd too ^-^) so the frames shall be all that much more sweet. Holding back right now though because waiting on .. shiny version of win7 to arrive ;)

This server shall be missed. Shame I never managed to finish any of my cacti buildings; I think I just made the scale too big.

For those that had castle builds in progress, post some pics and I will declare a winner. Might as well distribute the keys I have spare anyway. :P

I guess for me then this is good-bye. Not just on Edolas, but in better than wolves. I watched the world evolve in the few years I have been around, hell I even made OP. I tried to keep her alive, and god knows if I had the money I would keep her going. I only continued better than wolves for Edolas. BTW hardcore broke all of my worlds, and any of my knew ones have been killed by failing hard drives or the likes. So I won't be playing it anymore. I only regret not playing more, and finishing up my base. I came to better than wolves for automation, and leave now that it isn't fun for me anymore. I will be around on the IRC, but not likely gonna be posting here to much. I wish you all the best. Maybe I will see if we can get this hosted on my rig or someone else's (particularly someone with better internet) on the weekends or something. Best wishes to you all. <3

Update on the server:

In 2 days (Friday 20th) I am going to do the full backup of the server as it is, and host it for download. During this the server will be offline, and once it goes back online it will be in creative mode. This way, you have a week (goes offline on the 27th) to fly around and check out each others builds, make some nice pictures/videos etc.

): I'll probably log on to check out ther server, I never really got the chance to see many of the builds on the server because I was so new and stuck to the area around Ion's base mostly.....

This makes me really sad since now all 4 of the servers (emeraldcrack, edolas, leviathan, ivalice) I played on are dead or shut down :/

anyone have any really cool bases they wanna tell me the general location of so I can check em out once it goes creative? :D

Compacted as best I could, about a 100mb download, unpacked it's about 450mb. Quite surprised by that, the last time I did this it was about 2GB. Guess the minecraft updates did something right :P

world download is kinda broken atm, I emailed Face about it, and he is gonna take a look at it ASAP. So for now we just have the server.

Nether works fine, but as soon as we hit the overworld it regenerates everything. Dunno what was going on, but i did'nt bother exploring the issue more.

Yup you were right. :) Somehow the Region folder did not copy over the first time, which is likely why it was so much smaller as well :D. Downloading it all now

Alright, so this looks better. :P But I want to download it all one more time.. to be sure everything went through fine. =)

To clarify, I download through an FTP client, but as it concerns something like 1.7 million files or so (4.5GB) it takes quite a long time to download it all (size is not the problem, just the number of downloads). So I start the download, and just leave it running for a day. I'm a smart man, so I turn off my screens before I go to work. Unfortunately, I am not smart enough to remember that when I got home. :P

So I got home, and pressed the power button of my PC whilst getting a drink etc. This turned off my PC, which means I can't go through the FTP download log to check if any files were skipped. I'll set it to download again when I get home today, and wrap the PC up in post-its to ensure I don't turn it off again. ^_^

Sorry for the delay, it's Christmas time. Go drink eggnog. :D

For those with a less than favorable internet connection; Once I compress the files it ends up at about 1.5GB/2GB.
