Your favorite building blocks?
When I build, I tend to use stone bricks, stone slabs and wooden planks the most. In your builds, what are your 3 most common blocks you build with?

Stone bricks, all types of wood planks, and Block Dispensers >:D
I'm not really big on aesthetics, but I do care about them. As long as my eyes aren't bleeding I'm happy. :P

Dung and soap. Everywhere.
Serious response: I tend to like stone brick for walls of lower floors and buttresses/bracing/supports, stone slabs for path paving, wood for jungle wood for cielings and floors, and a mixture of blocks of concentrated hellfire and smoothstone for my more evil buildings. Soul bottlers and netherrack mills and such.

Re: Your favorite building blocks?
all four logs, all four planks and all the wool colors.
Never say no to Panda.
Re: Your favorite building blocks?
Mixing sandstone and planks/logs. Any one colorngets boring and JohnSmith's sandstone + wood looks quite nice. Snow is also a good one since it's the brightest block that hasn't got a border.

Re: Your favorite building blocks?
stone bricks, glass panes, grates, slates, wicker, wood logs and wooden planks. those are the items i have used the most so far.
stone bricks mainly for paths and outlining the structure.
glass panes for windows obviusly
grates and slates add a great feel that the place is ventilated, so where i have all my hibachis bellows and other fire items i usually make the upper walls out of these so it gives me the feeling that i wouldnt suffocate in their.
wicker has many aesthetic uses in general
wood logs and wooden planks for the roofs and floors as well as bridged and connecting structures.
i plan to start using more varied materials such as nether bricks and such once i set up farms for them.

Sandstone varieties by far. Usually paired with plank varieties. Sometimes with netherbrick trims.

Cobble. It's a great multi-tasker. It can make buildings, paths, platforms, any structure you need. It can also come in block, stair, and slab form. It's also extremely easy to get a hold of. Also, it looks GREAT. I don't see why you would ever use anything else.
No but really, I tend to use smooth stone and netherbricks to great excess in my builds. I really like the way they contrast each other.

For me it's probably pine planks (or whatever the darkest wood in the texture pack I'm using atm is), stone bricks, and stone slabs/double slabs.

I feel weird because no one has said it yet, but bricks. I mean, you need tons of clay for urns and other pottery, but I can't help it, I love the look of bricks with sandstone and spruce planks. Besides, I have enough clay for both bricks and urns.

Re: Your favorite building blocks?
I just don't like the look of bricks in general. The only brick you'll ever find in my world is in a kiln, and even then I try to hide it.

Bricks aren't my favorite either. Though on occasion I will use them in a green house or as trim for something else..DxPanxD wrote:I just don't like the look of bricks in general. The only brick you'll ever find in my world is in a kiln, and even then I try to hide it.

Re: Your favorite building blocks?
Oak wood planks for walls, stone half slabs for roof, windows made of glass, maybe some stone bricks for "mid room" walls (like where it would make sense to put a support pillar)
I only really use buildings as shells to hold my machines though, I suck at making things pretty :<
