Do you like space combat sims?

Post by DaveYanakov »

On the ten year anniversary of the start of the project, Wing Commander Saga has finally released. If you've played Wing Commander at all before you owe it to yourself to check this out. If you haven't I still recommend it. This may be the slickest, most professional fan project I've ever seen.

Even more impressive that it looks this good by todays standards considering it's based on the 12 year old Freespace 2 engine.

I always enjoyed the Descent series. Do you know other games in that style? I mean, the whole free movement 0g thing.

I want to see a zero-g space movement sandbox voxel game.

I thought the space combat in Reach was reasonably well done. Playing that in co-op was a blast.

Ah, when you've said space combat sims - well, for some reason I thought of Gratiduous Space Battles.

Descent was fun, I loved freelancer.
