I'm debating sharing a picture of myself and letting people judge from that.

That said, it wouldn't explain me currently listening to this, so meh.

Rock, hip-hop/rap, electronic, (that includes dubstep and stuff like C418's style) and actually tbh a little bit of what they call "pop" :P

Mainly dubstep, but if I like some R'n'B enough then I'll listen to that.

I listen to pretty much every genre (but definitely don't like everything in each). My musical tastes are fairly eclectic as demonstrated by my vids :)

There is nothing I don't listen to if it comes my way ... I mostly concentrate on soundtracks though. Games, films, series, anime whatever you can come up with. ;)

I'm a metalhead, myself. I lean towards thrash, folk, and symphonic with the occasional foray into straightforward black/death, depending on my mood. I go for a lot of bands with cultural influences in their music. Melechesh's Mesopotamian black metal, Arkona's Slavic metal, etc. Bands like Korpiklaani, Eluveitie, Ensiferum, Equilibrium, KromleK, Heidevolk, etc. Also dig Slayer, Megadeth, Revocation, Destruction, Sodom, etc. Favorite band is a tie between Kreator and Iced Earth, though.

Also a fan of classical guitar and acoustic street guitar, with emphasis on exploring the instrument. Andy McKee and Hunter-Van Larkins, for example.

Epic (literally) example

Honestly, would anybody be surprised if I try and explain how I enjoy both big band and gansta rap at the same time, as well as alternative and classical?

I usually go through phases, and there are at least a few songs or even a band or two that I like from practically every genre. Not in a big music mood lately, but I'd say right now I'd generally prefer to listen to some good old prog rock. Used to be a bit of an indie nerd but you really gotta stay on top of that stuff and I kinda fell out of it. I haven't found any new bands that tickle my fancy lately, but most of the indie stuff I like has a bit of a prog/80s/folk rock feel to it anyway. I'll probably always keep up with the Decemberists at least. Gr8 band, them. I'm also very into game music (the orchestral stuff like Yasunori Mitsuda) though I haven't actively listened to it for quite some time. Once I get some extra spendin' moneys I'll probably invest in a good way to get back into music. Maybe get some headphones for my phone so I can properly utilize Google Music.

The Doors, Gorillaz and Pink Floyd in particular and classic rock in general.

About every genre, if the music production is good.

I have a special fondness for breakbeats though, so anything from Kurtis Blow to The Beasty Boys to Goldie really gets my gears moving.

Also a big Woodstock fan, so bring on those 60's & 70's songs :)

Oh yes, I dig that very much. Something tells me that you like Jefferson Airplane too in that case, so here, have another one :)

Oh I wasn't going to discuss JA themselves, I thought they are pretty much common knowledge.

Also Jim Carrey has done a hilarious rendition of Somebody to Love

Yeah, sure, but if anything, we need more reasons in life to play JA songs, not less :)

I think the only time I've ever really wanted to play an Xbox game was because they used Jefferson Airplaine's White Rabbit in the commercial.

My taste is very eclectic, too, but if I had to pick out my 'staple diet', as it were...

Cabaret punk. Dresden Dolls, Amanda Palmer, etcetera. Piano + Voice. Stuff that twists set genres with a dark edge and a great rhythm ^_^
