If FC has made it clear that the minecart code is hands off then we should respect that and let it rest.

Arg people are deliberately ignoring my posts.

I bumped this purely to mention there's a mod that now does this and there is no need for FC to do it, but everyone just keeps responding to the OP -.-

Oh but the one person who did see my post completely ignored the point in it and suggested the thread should be deleted. Joy.

I think this should be locked since it HAS been discussed extensively and has been considered by FC + there are other mods for it ...
