Sand can melt into glass, Cobble to smooth, perhaps cooking cactus would work as well?
It's the only dye that requires a furnace to make.
Not terribly useful, but also not really a lot of effort to implement.

This is already implemented (try with an un-stoked cauldron), and suggestions belong in suggestion sub-forum.
