Easily Find Wolves
Just a quick tip for people having trouble finding wolves:
If you install Mo' Creatures you can turn all Mo' Creatures mobs off then amp up the wolf spawning rate.

Why do something if you can get someone else to do it for you?

Re: Easily Find Wolves
or you could install SPC and spawn wolves in. Or use spawner GUI. or EqEx.
All comes down to the same thing really.

The difference is that this is a way to restore 1.7 behavior, not using a mod to add yet another imbalanced mob system.
Until we get to play around with 1.9 BTW, 1.7 mob behavior is the most reliable and fitting with vanilla.

I did not ignore it, I installed it and was very happy with the results, until the world where my awesome mob trap was broken and had to be deletedgrimper12341 wrote:I posted the Mo Creatures spawning fix a week ago but everyone ignored it :(

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't BTW already modify the wolf class ss.class? Wouldn't this fix cause you to get wolves to not despawn but they wouldn't be able to drop dung? If these 2 lines of code being removed fix the problem,SPACEDUDE360000 wrote:

Code: Select all
protected boolean canDespawn()
{
return !isWolfTamed();
}

Even then, it would cause it to fail catastrophically with mo' creatures. Mo' creatures currently sets it by default so that the despawn immunity is removed form the entityanimal class. Removing those two lines would just make wolves automatically despawn if you have mo' creatures installed. What he'd need to do is make it return false.TheGuy wrote:Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't BTW already modify the wolf class ss.class? http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/738 ... spawn-fix/then it would have to be fixed by Flowerchild for it to work with BTW.Code: Select all
protected boolean canDespawn() { return !isWolfTamed(); }
What's the price of freedom now?

Better Than Wolves was borne of anal sex. True Story.
Re: Easily Find Wolves
But the wolf despawn fix is intended to be used on it's own. IE use the fix or mo creatures but not both.
