Buggy world generation

Post by Noshery »

I am not sure if this is a bug with vanilla or BTW, but I found a bunch of chunks of land in the middle of an ocean that should not be there.

This looks like a very common vanilla thing, when you delete an old world and create a new one by the same name. What you are seeing are chunks from the previous world which never finished deleting.

You can use MCEdit to delete the offending chunks and regen them next time you enter the game.

You also get this when you have created a world before a Minecraft update affecting world gen. There hasn't been one in a while though. In one of my old worlds I have some rather dramatic ocean/extreme hills borders and in another there are several shear cliffs underwater.
