Re: Checkerboard monster trap

Works like a charm! :D Until I buggered something up :P. Think I fixed it now, will make a video/detailed post about it tomorrow night!

I go over it in my last video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CfpisGLbvA , though not in detail.

Re: Wolfey Pooping

Although I don't have many visitors in my single player world :P, I would personally use any excess dung I have to cook with meat to get the "bad food" to serve my guests, then yell:

GET OFF MY LAWN!!! :P

Re: The Learning Curve: Redstone, Logic, and Applications

Hmm, Piston flip flop? Sounds interesting! I shall google it! :D So far ive been using a basic one of 4x4, 3 high (found schematic in a BTW video actually :P). Served me well so far, but a more compact one would be great :D /edit Quick video i found regarding piston t-flip flops with the person expl...

Re: Checkerboard monster trap

Genius. :D You never fail to surprise me, those contraptions... wow :D.

I like the note regarding the sawblade. I might just do that myself, remove the lava and replace it with a sawblade. I guess that would be at the same place as the "lava blade" right?

Re: Checkerboard monster trap

Just made one last night! =). It is about 30 long, and 20 wide. (20 wide = 8 long on either side for the water flow, 2 spaces in between and an outer wall). It works well so far, though it does not punch out the number of items as it did for him in the movie. It might be due to the fact that my lava...

Re: Archimedes' screw using turntable

Could you perhaps make a short video of the workings? I am having a hard time wrapping my head around this one, but it looks like a really cool feature to use, to move items upwards. :)

Quite a few video updates including a timelapse build of my mill (not finished). I'd still welcome any suggestions or comments for my castle! :)

Also made a playlist with all the videos in it, in order:

Re: Water Collection Suggestion

I like that idea

An addition to a similar waterbased idea could be a waterwheel that can scoop water from a river and drop it on a higher level. Like, a waterwheel with buckets on it! :)

Re: Castle Build - progress display [PAUSED]

Alrighty, the pause won't be as I initially would have thought. I already rebuilt the majority of the manor house, which also allowed me to add some cool changes to it. It will look even better then before. The elevator shouldnt take too long in the towers either, but the treasury will be a pain in ...

Re: Elevator control with detector block help

Alrighty! :) I was testing this last night, and I got it to work without the use of a XOR gate. (which is good for me, as I have never used one of those before, so not sure what they do :P). I have an "RS NOR LATCH" (flip flop) connected to the gearbox in front of the pulley as output, and...

Re: Elevator control with detector block help

That depends on how you want to connect your XOR gate. Two ways come to mind (the output is always to the pulley): This is quite unnecessary complicated though since just using a DB without any gates works as well. You'll need to build a separate release system if you use this method. Could you per...

Re: Need some help with windmill

WHen placing the gearboxes, are all the arrows pointing in the direction that the power comes from?
The first gearbox's arrows are pointed at the windmill. The 2nd gearbox should be pointed towards the axels that come out of the first gearbox.

Re: Castle Build - progress display

I guess I could have a torch lighting up if it goes up, and not if it goes down, then use a block dispenser to interupt the redstone pattern... hmm Thats extremely basic, but could technically work! Precisely what I was gonna suggest, but with a lightblock instead of a torch. And to get a pulse sig...

Re: Castle Build - progress display

I kinda .. gave up.. for now.. :D Right now I have a simple flipflip connected to a buttons on the 3 floors to turn the gearbox on/off. so lower/bring up the platform. In addition I have a detector block when the platform arrives on a level that detects it and powers the pulley to stop it. This is o...
