Re: BTW + Buildcraft

YAY I am fantastically happy that FC gave it a try! At the very least you could look at it as something for much further up the Tech Tree. I agree that BC does NOT mesh well into Minecraft in general. A large part of it is the texturing, its just too removed from the general look and feel. Redstone ...

Re: BTW and IndustrialCraft

Yea BTW is a much much different feel than IC. It has been suggested before I think. At any rate with the move over to MinecraftForge, the two mods will play very nicely together compatibility wise, so while there will never (and should not be really) an integration of the two, they will be playable...

Re: Minecraft Forge - do we need it?

FC you just gave me the best news I have heard all day! I agree with you that with the 4 of you (dont forget Eloraam is on the Minecraft Forge team as well) it will very likely become a major standard. You are all also open to the idea of adding hooks for other modder's needs, which just makes it th...

Re: Regarding FlowerChild's Post

I really cannot think of anything to say that hasn't been said already. You have created a wonderful mod and have actually inspired to start modding. Keep up the good work... What he said. Also I feel that at least for me a lot of the suggestions are just brainstorming. It is not necessarily things...

RE: Turtle's discussion on the Aether mod

Since I am not a flying turtle, and certainly by no means Hardcore about BTW to be one, I thought that making this an optional thread for how the rest of us feel about the Aether would be fair. I am all in favor of having lots of mods working together. I am currently running a mod pack of about 20 m...

Re: Thoughts on stone-grinding

That would make sense to me. If Steve can make an iron saw blade or an Iron Pick, I dont think that casting some stone or Iron gears is too far out of his abilities. Replacing all of the gears in his gear boxes would make them much strong to boot. Perhaps in a version or two this could be implemented?

Re: 7 Floor elevator build

Well to be fair, not so long ago mankind still used cotton fabrics to isolate wires (which the mod does afaik) at least in the grand picture of things. In the end it comes down to the fact that redstone kinda was ment to be "copper" but didn't make it there and now is some kind of strange...

Re: 7 Floor elevator build

I think I meant more in the sense that certain things can only be built utilizing RP. I happily use them together already.

Re: 7 Floor elevator build

I personally dont think that the redpower is OP. It takes a fair amount of material to make it. Its iron surrounded by redstone to make a red-ore ingot. Then several red-ore ingots to make wire, and 3 plus several wool for an insulated wire. Colored insulated wire requires dying the wool first and t...

Re: Protecting a windmill from rain

It is a tad frustrating when trying to power an elevator though. The windmill disconnecting has lead to me being trapped halfway down a shaft many a time. Which of course begs the question why I don't just power the thing by water wheel in the first place.

Do tell us if it works though, because me and my friends would love to know. If we know it can be done we could probably replicate it.

Re: Willing to Help

I did not understand object oriented programming very well until I started to come up with my own analogies for the code logic using real world objects. The simplest is basically that if you have a Dog class, it contains all of the attributes and things that a dog can do. Most textbooks like to refe...

Re: Willing to Help

Well, thanks for responding and not being a jerk about it either! I think we probably will put it off for a bit. I had somehow missed that Notch was going to unify the code, which from what we have played around with so far is very unlikely to make things worse and will hopefully make things much mu...

Re: Willing to Help

I am prepared for a buggering lol. I think that is a good verb for that, well played. And if that is the case I would rather him just say don't touch it and put us out of our misery. We just realized we would have to write packet handlers, something that neither of us have any idea how to do. As wel...

Willing to Help

Greetings, Myself and a friend of mine Icewolf have recently begun trying to set up a server with BuildCraft and Better than Wolves. First let us say that we absolutely love your mod, and that we understand that you are very very busy with it. We also understand how you feel about Build Craft and de...
