Cool another update :).
Is killing zombies during the day part of your intended gameplay? Seems like doing that makes more zombies spawn right on top of me, so I've been avoiding it and sticking to scavenging garbage piles.

Re: Star Wars VII trailer
See, Darth Mauls dual saber is actually a very different weapon with a very different fighting style attached to it, think sword vs staff. And this is evident in Qui-Gon Jinn's extreme difficulty in defeating this style. Darth Maul's dual-bladed lightsaber actually was cool, and made sense in that ...

Re: 7 Days To Die: Better Than Giant Bees - 1.111 for Alpha
Note to any new BTGB players: The bushes that give sticks come in a variety of appearances, most of them are dark brown in color, but the forest biome has an additional small-sized green bush that also gives sticks (and relatively few of the dark bushes). So I guess that means the brown ones can be...

Re: 7 Days To Die: Better Than Giant Bees - 1.12 for Alpha 1
Thanks for the quick update! I broke my no more early access rule and picked up 7 days for 50% off and was looking forward to trying BTGB tonight. My first day of jumping right in with BTGB was less than stellar. I died a few times just figuring out the controls and browsing recipes, because I didn'...

Re: Recent Movie Reviews [Avoid Spoilers]
I'll second Pandorum, I saw that a while ago.
I recently watched a science fiction movie called Europa Report that I randomly borrowed from the library. It kept me interested the whole time.
Just this afternoon I watched Edge of Tomorrow. Definitely enjoyed that one.

Re: Fracking Lava
It might have just been a joke, but I wouldn't advise building a path to another surface level network either. Rather, dig along the top of the bottom strata until you find another one. The odds it will descend into the bottom strata are MUCH greater than anything you might find on the surface. It ...

Re: Fracking Lava
I did find diamonds once beneath lava. It's not that bad to fill it with gravel/sand and dig it back out again. That doesn't help with your shovel problem though because you'll still spend a lot of time digging. You might be better off using that gravel to build a nice gravel slab path to a new cave...

Re: The BTSM/BTW divide
I had no interest in KSP at first, it just seemed like a rocket sandbox with no real gameplay. When I saw the BTSM mod then I thought it might be something I could get into as I could trust there to be a good gameplay experience. I watched a few IcyNewYear videos and it seemed like fun. I still have...

Re: Purgatory: BTW Cooperative Server w/ Deco addon
Well, there's a giant ocean to the west. I've made a portal every 200 blocks in the nether, for a total of 2000 blocks, and every one has either been in the air above the ocean or in a cave below it. I'm not going to stop until I reach land. But first I'm building a base at that last portal, in the ...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion
I'm cautiously optimistic about the whole Microsoft deal. No doubt they have money and talent to make a pretty awesome new version of Minecraft if they really wanted to. I think if they made a new version that performed much better in multiplayer and had a decent modding API it would be successful. ...

Hi, can I play on this server? IGN? VegasGoat Why do you want to play here? After a few months I'm ready to get back into BTW and try the villager changes and hardcore sinkholes. It's lonely playing by myself. I like to see other people's builds or just have some chat going on while I play. Multipla...

Re: Early Iron Mines - Cave, Strip, Ravine or Other?
Ravines usually spell death for me. Too many opportunities for creepers to get the drop on me. I find caves the safest because I can bring a load of dirt and make barriers all over to prevent anything coming from behind me.

Also if you're worried about the channels possibly linking back to your actual google account, just create a second google account for anonymous activity and create the channels under that account. You can be logged in to multiple google accounts simultaneously.

Re: Using an YouTube username
AFAICT, this is what you do (might need to be logged in to a google account): https://www.youtube.com/create_channel Click the "To use a business or other name, click here" link. Then you can name it whatever you want. Once it's created, you'll just have to make sure you have that new chan...

Nice, that brings back some good memories. I used to make stick figure death movies too, with an old program called Autodesk Animator. I remember one called Green vs. Blue, which ended with a giant blue bulldozer running over a bunch of green guys.

Re: Modding Tutorials
I first learned how to do it a very long time ago largely by typing game programs in from the back of magazines. I remember doing this with programs from Compute's Gazette, although it didn't really teach me anything because the code I was copying was in MLX . It was an amazing feeling though when ...

Ouch, that's rough. You can prevent this in the future by using the new minecraft launcher (get the latest Minecraft.exe from Mojang) and setting up a separate profile for BTW with a different directory.

Re: Minecraft Is Too Easy (MITE) 1.6.4 MC Mod thoughts?
If a skeleton can one shot you, that would make me want to make sure I was in doors before dusk. It adds tension to the days activities. It sounds good, but in practice it doesn't really work. Digging is severely limited without tools, so building a real shelter is out of the question especially wh...

Re: Minecraft Is Too Easy (MITE) 1.6.4 MC Mod thoughts?
I tried this out last night. My first day went pretty well, I foraged a bunch of wheat seeds to stave off hunger, killed a few animals, and dug up some sand to surround myself for the night. Two spiders came for me in the night but they were easily dispatched from below since they couldn't reach me....

Re: Better Than Horses v0.3 (BTW v.4-89PHILLIP)
Is there a way to do a manual install? I'd rather use 7-zip to copy classes into my jar file, just like when I install BTW. My respective minecraft.jar is named "1.5.2BTH", maybe this is causing problems? Yeah, that error seems like it has to actually be named "minecraft.jar" for...
