Re: Musket
Maybe just for another age, we are at the steel age... But if the mod grows bigger (which i know it will), things will get modern! Maybe for the next versions... Just bear in mind that the kind of steel production in BTW was prevalent in the 9th and 10th Century AD here in the west - in the east it...

Re: New Release! (BTW V3.0)
I just want to make you aware also in case you weren't in the know (but you probably are) the 1.9 pre5 makes it so all 'full' blocks count as source now, that includes each block in a waterfall. You sure about that? That would make using pistons or BDs as flood-gates fairly useless. Soon as your co...

Re: New Release! (BTW V3.0)
Oh, I completely missed the point! I really wasn't suggesting you farm a section of the mod to someone else, I know how you feel about that - the point I missed is that you want that functionality - I read your original post on the subject that you weren't too fussed by it but you wanted to make it ...

Re: New Release! (BTW V3.0)
Honestly, I'm not sure about the future of Hardcore Bucket mode. Given the number of "my water no works" posts on the MCF forum when I accidentally made it the default without the config file installed, I think I can do without the hassle of making it on by default in the future. I think ...

Re: Glowing Rope
Even with modern industrial technology, glow in the dark rope which would illuminate it's surroundings would not be viable to produce. To me, your idea is that you want to be able to illuminate distant area's, which I'm pretty sure is going to be facilitated by the lens. Even if it's not, that's the...

I guess it just really comes down to how one perceives this particular sub-forum should be used. I'll attempt in the future to view these threads less as suggestions being directed at me personally as I think that may be at the route of why I often become aggravated by them. I think people use it b...

Re: Spiders being damaged/thrown back by spinning axles
It seems like a useless feature to me. Just put a lip on your walls. While yes, it is possible to solve my problem in this instance by building giant walls all around each individual axle, it is also possible to solve it by placing torches lighting up literally every square that is loaded. I was ju...

Re: Spiders being damaged/thrown back by spinning axles
Just one question: What can you do with this that can't be done with a saw? I can't power a saw if it's protecting a reasonably complicated set of axles. Also if it does no damage, it would be different from the saw. At the end of the day, it is a potentially easy quick addition which can give rise...

Re: Epic setting in next release :)
Not impossible, you'd just have to power a "ring main" which all your circuits attach too. But I agree your idea is more likely, even if I put that idea forward too! A ring main? where would you attach it? how would you use logic gates if torches don't work? etcb etc Hehe...exactly what I...

Re: Epic setting in next release :)
I see a few clues: modifying vanilla behavior harder for advanced users for technically-inclined players [involves] the mod's tech-tree Based on those clues, my guess is that redstone power can no longer be supplied from torches, levers and buttons but rather you need a mechanically powered dynamo....

Spiders being damaged/thrown back by spinning axles
I was just wondering if powered axles could interact with spiders, or mobs in general. My immediate thoughts were that it could damage them, but more interesting is that they could instead throw them back or even just interrupt their climbing ability, forcing them to drop.

OK, trying to take the idea in a constructive direction - and I should point out, I don't really see the need for it at the moment and think the techniques needed to manufacture one are not yet being explored by better than wolves, they are more advanced than the mod has reached. So a musket fires a...

How about some form of strategic ore generation? I've used mossman1223's oregen mod for awhile and love it (hasn't been updated to 1.8.1). Seems to fit the criteria of a fundamental but simple modification to vanilla that makes the game harder but more rewarding. I've been hoping one of the main fo...
