Re: Riveter's Ironwork texture pack -BTW 4.8
I think I see where you are coming from. I rarely if ever use my ore blocks as building material, so look at them from an aesthetic "in chests" icon. I'll work on a version of each that would tile well.

Re: Riveter's Ironwork texture pack -BTW 4.8
Been getting a ton of stuff done and updated. Should be ready for the new release soon, but I wanted to get some opinions on changes I made to the ore and gem blocks.

Working on those now, also updating some of the other textures.DiamondArms wrote:

Re: Riveter's Ironwork texture pack -BTW 4.8
I do not quite understand how to install this texture pack based upon the readme.txt. Do you think you could help at all? Thank you. The "btwmodtex" and "textures" folders are dragged into your minecraft.jar. The "SummerFields_5.1-Riveter's mix" are dragged into your t...

Re: Show us your... Style?
With the inclusion of tanned leather armor, I can finally use the sweet wolf head leathers from the Summerfield's pack! Without armor I'm a filthy peasant, and the skin shows it.

Re: Riveter's Ironwork texture pack (32x)
Sweet. currently using your TP. Will Chopping Blocks be awesome? Be mindful I need to update this TP to the newest update. I'll have that done by today. Edit: Just saw the update for 4.53, is there a key for the textures that explains what they used for? I can throw in some placeholders for now, bu...

Re: Riveter's Ironwork texture pack (32x)
My initial thought is that those black lines look very heavy. Tone down the black outlines. Seeing as not every block as them the ones that do, really stand out, they just look odd to me.. I've been looking at that as well. Working on a new version. Modifying base textures now before I start adding...

Riveter's Ironwork texture pack -BTW 4.8
Update 3-11-13: Texture pack is updated for 4.8. Using Summerfields as a base, as this was mostly a need to have one texture pack cover BTW and vanilla. This is still very much a WIP. I still need to get the hang of animating textures(particularly the axles), and refine the more basic blocks. If you...

Re: Auto wheat farm question
Riverter, would that be max dispenser rom and slowest turntable setting? I don't see that giving enough time for growth... I use the rom from Starshifterxen's video on his auto-feeders(Sorry I don't know the original creator of the rom). Here's the vid, http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_e...

Re: Auto wheat farm question
This is what I use, a mashup of different wheat farms I've seen before, but they work well for automation. Each level gives you 10 wheat, and they are stack-able. Ignore the cows at the bottom, I had just ripped out the old feeder system and am in the process of building in new stack-able animal har...

Re: Record Farm
If you don't mind having to be present to do the farming, there is a really easy way. Build a 2 block gapped, spider sorted mob trap that causes a 23 block fall. This will leave the mobs with half a heart. Leave a ring around their feet free, they wont be able to see you so wont attack. You build th...

Re: BTW Picture thread
I'm getting back into Minecraft after a few months away. First thing I did was update BTW and get to building a 1.0.0 world. Got off to a pretty good start, squealed like a school girl when I saw the addition of pillars to BTW. I'm trying to keep to a small area, so I've had to strip and re-build t...

Re: BTW Build Style
I hate having to re-build damaged structures, so all of my buildings are made to be monster-proof(I never play on peaceful). This leads to well lit structures raised above ground level. A perimeter fence around that is lit as well. I separate the different tools and their power sources to allow room...

Re: Uses of chainmail?
Give it the same armor value as iron, but make an enclosed helmet for extending underwater exploration. You would need a full suit to gain the benefit. This is done today as shark chain armor. We now have deeper water biomes, and I've always hated having to use a door as a diving aid. If the thread ...

Re: Riveter's Texture pack (non-btw stuff)
Sorry I haven't been keeping this thread updated. With all of the updates to vMC, Forge, BTW, and the HD patcher there is no way for me to test the textures. I have been working on alternates that I can work into the terrain.png once all that is settled. When I started this pack I was using Glimmar'...

Re: Riveter's Texture pack (non-btw stuff)
Taking a break from the BTW part of the texture pack until I get an issue with the items rendering correctly. Had to roll back to pre-forge BTW. If anyone has a fix for this, (TELLING ME YOURS WORKS PERFECTLY DOES NOT HELP), but has had the problem and fixed it, I would be very grateful! Still worki...

Followed the new release link here, thank you for posting that, as I had missed the update with the texture explanation! Thank you so much for making each block have their own sides and top. I've been looking over the Forge thread and still haven't heard of any issues with the HD patcher. I know FC ...

Re: Riveter's Texture pack (non-btw stuff)
Thanks everyone for the suggestions, that is exactly why I post here! I noticed the "sitting on top" issue as well, I'll have to play around with different shading to see what I can come up with. I might mix Gilberreke's layered style with the dust style of Glimmar. I'll add all the differ...

Re: Riveter's Texture pack (non-btw stuff)
I like everything, except the Iron ore. Don't do a deep redish color, do an orange color or a tan color. It's what it looks like in real life (looking at rivers contaminated with iron dust) EDIT: refer to some of the pictures in this Wiki The first picture of the orange ore is the Iron, should I ma...

Re: Riveter's Texture pack (non-btw stuff)
I like the look of the green lava but I'm pretty sure that it's going to throw me off by such an extent that I'll walk right into it... And finally a set of ores that I wont miss as I walk by it. When I get to the lava I'll make a few different colors and versions. The kind of lava I can't stand is...
