Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

If you want to ax that ability you might as well cannibalize the item ids for all of rails, they are completely pointless. The only serviceable use for rails is moving from one base to another and because of the nether to world ratio its much quicker to just to use that as your inter base transport...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

Am I the only one excited about the new hoppers actually making rail systems not a complete waste of time? I can appreciate the difficulty in using water as a transport system but axing vmc hoppers and refusing to allow rails to be anything other than a glorified waste of iron is the actual breaking...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

"So....this nether quartz can detect light and transmit different redstone currents and detect them too but only sometimes? Okay, makes sense. Let's add that." You're also not mentioning the initial "we have a bunch of ores in our game that don't actually have many uses, so let's add...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

The claim that "pistons should be more stable" sounds a little worrying - is that a reference to the death of BUD switches in vMC? As it stands now, the comparator has very limited uses. As seen in Dinnerbone's Twitter, it could be used as a binary adder, but that could be done ever since...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

I'd like the hopper to put out a redstone signal when it's full, otherwise it seems pretty great for a vMC hopper. Anyone know what the heck those weighted pressure plates are all about? I believe it has something to do with differentiating from individual items and stacks pushing on it. Sort of a ...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

To be fair, I don't think their current version of a hopper would need toggle-able on off processing. It has a completely stunted inventory allowance, unlike btw where it is honestly much too large. Secondly, it doesn't have a filter system, which has some reasoning in the current gen of vmc. Most p...

Redstone will apparently be able to recognize input strengths. I though the actual device was pretty interesting, perhaps they'll get into some red power territory as well.

Re: Better With Wheat, Add-on [Exploratory Discussion]

Thanks, sorry was away from xmas. From an earlier post my main goal to accomplish here is introduce a time management level to pre automation in BTW. Its often far too easy just to line up wheat near water and harvest as needed. Then either invest that into meat or just have a stack of food while yo...

Re: musing on RTH

I've always figured that between Fc's musings on changing block as simple as dirt and his hints that mobs will become more dangerous, insinuates that in RTH we could expect mobs to be able to defeat different levels of building materials. In the case of dirt, which is often the first material of a m...

Re: Nether vs Overworld Base

gold isn't that hard to find in the over world, especially if you run into some sort of pre generated ravine. I'll generally run into more than enough gold to entertain me for weeks while im searching for the necessary three diamonds to enter the nether. While rotted flesh is more abundant from pigm...

Re: Nether vs Overworld Base

The major difficulty in maintaining both is actually that you can't keep both loaded at the same time. Especially if FC follows through with destroying animal farming in the nether suddenly a wide range of necessary products become off limits to you. With your automated farming effectively being tur...

Better With Wheat, Add-on [Exploratory Discussion]

I've been toying with the idea of going about and adjusting some of the food making mechanics of BTW, while until recently I had been putting off such an addon because of FC's limited talk that he'd like to redo the whole hunger system, I've decided to move forward since its doubtful to see any real...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

My main problem with the enchanvilibram is not that it is a bad idea in general. I've always felt like the enchantment system was haphazard and asked too much of the player on a dice roll. Hence, I've really enjoyed how BTW modifies this aspect of the gameplay. No, my problem is that it feels too m...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

That is why I started playing better than wolves; It really is more "vanilla" than vanilla. Oooo. Good MCF thread splash... I agree with you, by the way. My gameplay centers around BTW features, not emeralds or enchanvilibrams. I feel dirty for saying this, but I'm actually starting to li...

Re: What is BWF?

Sengir wouldn't have survived the tekkit vindictive bees issue if every other modder disliked him. He survived because he played the game and had allies to come and white knight for him. "Survived"? What does that even mean? DO you think people would have stopped playing Forestry just bec...

Re: What is BWF?

I totally think he had it coming. What he said was despicable about letting the other guy steal your stuff tekkit style so it can be on his precious forge. It makes him the biggest hypocrite of them all. You acting civil and being the bigger man doesn't make you a hypocrite. You can be hurt and angr...

Re: What is BWF?

I pray this all blows over without too much more fuss. (with FC as the victor of course) The problem being that I don't think this can be resolved without as much fuss as humanly possible :) For the most part, I really do want to just keep to myself in terms of the rest of the MC community and work...
