Terraria :D. I luvs it. Partly because its super similar to MC and partly because it got some bloody epic music along with some pretty damn overpowered bosses. Its also moddable.

I think the darkness around the bottom of the map is generated via the void somehow managing to seep through the seemingly impenatrible bedrock. Also ender crystals aren't made of bedrock, they're formed on a bedrock base out of concetrated void/ender energy.
