The hopper has a borked renderer.
The hopper has some render issues: - incorrect lighting on the on all sides of the block when placed next to a wall. - incorrect texture offsets on the sides of the block, really noticeable when using a texturepack (which is the main reason for posting this.) - 30 wasted faces being rendered, though...

Maybe a list of food items stating at what tech level they are available, how much hunger they replenish etc.

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion
The fuss isn't that they added the feature into the game, really, it's the fact that with the time they used to add such a ridiculous feature that 95% of the playerbase won't even SEE much less use, they could have added something much more beneficial to the game. It's along the lines of opportunit...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion
See, you say that now, but we all know that popular demand will dictate that animal stacking becomes an Anvil feature in 1.5.2. No, we don't know actually. Here's what I think is going to happen. Either everyone is going to forget about this feature and you'll only see it every so often (like firew...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion
I think what you can compare this to is your health going from 20 to 200 (written as 20.0f for readability) and mob damage goes from 2 to 20 (or 2.0f). Allowing for more precise damage tweaks.

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion
- A stack of 8 (looks like a full snow block) can still melt and wash away from water, same as other stack sizes. In other words; any stack size still behaves like a 1 high stack. A few more questions I have about it: - What do you get when breaking different sized piles? - Does that stack of 8 bec...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion
Kinda smoothly. This is the way Groth already works, but movement over its surface is a bit glitchy as a result. Hopefully now that Mojang has included this feature they'll be motivated to fix up the player movement code for that kind of thing, although I'm still uncertain as to how player collisio...

Re: Auto-Hardcore Melon Farm Design Yes or No?
Very nice build.
You can make it more compact by moving the piston up by 1 block and having it extend by putting a torch on the side of the detector block.

Correct, it's going to stay at the default texture resolution. I'm only going to add alternate models and perhaps change some particles.
how about "BTW - alternate visuals"?

Re: The BTW vs RP conflict: a historical approach
EDIT: For those unable to watch the video, Direwolf20 is doing a Let's Play of a prerelease of RedPower. He approaches a vertical windmill and says, "I can't think of any other mod that adds a vertical wind mill like this." Odd.. He goes from being very civil and answering one of the ques...

Re: [Add-On] Finer Than Wolves (WIP)
I don't really like the name I gave this add-on. The name "Finer Than Wolves" means something along the line of "BTW visual upgrade". However the issue with "upgrade" is that it implies the add-on is an improvement over BTW and that completely up to personal preference....

Re: The BTW vs RP conflict: a historical approach
Some conflicts that I think should be proven or disproved:
1 - pumps / screw pumps.
2 - light sensor / detector block.
3 - creating stone bricks variants by running a liquid next to them. (RP functionality is explained in video: here)

Re: The BTW vs RP conflict: an historical approach
The Eloraam bashing comments are inevitable. It's a good thing it's so close to the OP. However I do think that is should be pointed out in the OP that the purpose of this topic is to disprove the "BTW is ripping off RP" argument. Unfortunately, my understanding is that her blog has been m...

Re: [Add-On] Finer Than Wolves (WIP)
This is a secondary project, meaning that I'll only be able to work on it when I'm done with my main project and I feel like doing some more coding. I admit that I probably submitted this WIP topic to early, being overwhelmed by excitement. However I do intend to finish it. As far as the textureshee...

As I've stated in the thread, this is a matter of me defending my self-respect and not allowing myself to be steamrollered by what is effectively a mob that have no respect for me or all the work I have put into providing free content to the community. It is also me defending my very desire to cont...

Re: [Add-On] Finer Than Wolves (WIP)
That is fantastic! At this current time there are only a few staple mods that I use, Modloader, BTW and MCPatcher's HD Fix. This particular style mod could very easily be part of that staple list. With the emergence of BTW servers having such mods that only need to be installed on one side (server ...
