Re: Observations on Hunting, Wood, and Hunger Investment
My bad then. I knew extra drops on logs were there back when they converted to planks, I just didn't think they'd be tacked on with the sticks as well after the changes. I also never really bothered using sticks in the furnace since I only ever made them when I needed tools, so it's a misconception ...

Re: Observations on Hunting, Wood, and Hunger Investment
The last time I checked a log in the crafting grid only grants 2 sticks, not any dust or bark. Is all the other stuff add-ons like the string is from a bow?dawnraider wrote:technically you get the same return for using an axe as a sharp stone

Re: Observations on Hunting, Wood, and Hunger Investment
Thanks for responding. I've just heard from members on the Discord server that sticks are a more efficient source of fuel than sawdust or bark, which might explain my problem. I've been pretty much exclusively using bark and sawdust in my campfires since they used to be tied with sticks for burn tim...

I've enjoyed many of the games on the current Humble Strategy Bundle and Endless Space 1 was my first introduction to the 4x genre:

Woops, accidentally posted this in the streamers thread since I forgot we had a video thread.

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.AAAAAAAAAAHHHH) - NO SPOILERS
Most of my time lately has been getting devoured wholesale by trying to make a 1.12.2 modpack for vanilla that tries to approach BTW's state of being an actual game instead of a lego box, but I'll try to devote some time on Monday to recording a play session.

3rd strata stone only easily breakable with SFS tool instead of diamond. Being able to safely and easily strip mine the good stuff relatively early on in progression lessens the danger and scarcity issues most of us seem to masochistically enjoy. In my opinion (for what its worth), caves through th...

Re: Who (or what?) is Steve? Why is he here?
As I see it, the hostile mobs are made to kill and eat the animals with the hope of starving Steve. All the mobs not only have a purpose against Steve, but almost mirror him too. Zombies: eat the mammals and convert villagers. Steve: breed animals and trade with villagers Skeletons: attack from a d...

Are slimeballs on the table for items to get storage methods? Prior to the changes to bouncing deadly mini-slimes I had a few double-chests worth of slimeballs sitting around just from living near a swamp biome. On the subject of recipe unlocking, you could include books with crafting recipes alread...

Hehe... well, considering you've just invented a massive system that would likely take dozens of hours to implement all for the sake of producing some more lapis, I'll assume you're joking :) I've always been fond of the idea of tying ropes to the sky-sheep though. I assume you grabbed that from on...

Re: The Feature Request / Suggestion Thread - LIMITED TIME O
During my time at work today, I came up with a large integrated system concept to address some of the things people requested and put them all together in a neat little package. I know you prefer to work things out on your own instead of having people send you full on engineered concepts, but I'd li...

Re: The Feature Request / Suggestion Thread - LIMITED TIME O
Hi, Keiku on the Discord here, just wanted to formalize my requests from earlier, possibly drop in an extra couple older ideas I've refrained from voicing in the past. • Bone/Flesh slabs to finish constructing my castle of meat and throne forged from the bones of my enemies. • Smoothstone stairs wou...

Sheesh. How many times do I have to say it's not something you should be concerned with? I personally craft some bootsies, I find they are very good at reducing anxiety over things I should just not worry about. I prefer to hang out underwater wearing my Very Safe Hat and create steam engines by th...

Re: Form vs function in early-mid-late game
I personally wait only until renewable food, but by that point I've already started creating a rabbit's warren of chaotic hallways, rooms, and mining centers that's kind of hard to really pretty up when it's all underground. This kind of means that by the time I'm already able to make early aestheti...

This month's Humble Monthly from Humble Bundle includes The Long Dark and 2 other games for $12 all as early unlocks, with another bunch of games to arrive January 1st. For the record, though, for those who still like the current system they always take snapshots of every final version of every major release. I'm still hopeful and intrigued the new system will be better, even if I like the old wormhole generators for how they help compartmentalize the area around y...

Is Stellaris base game worth it for 60% off at $17? The CIV games are fun but the paradox European grand strategies are a bit too much for what I like. It's maybe not for everyone, but it's the modern 4x game I've liked the most personally. If you want a slower build progression than Civ, prefer th...

I've heard good things about Majesty, and a bunch of pathfinder PDF's isn't half bad for only $1.
Kingsway also looks like an interesting concept game.
