HC Spawn has a generous grace period where you respawn at the same spot if you die too soon after first being sent there.

You know, in case you are killed too quickly to get started, or in case you have the bright idea of killing yourself on purpose to get a different spot.

Re: Animal pens [Designs for fun, and more knowledge]

I'm generally careless with my animal pens and just make a big box with a fence. I employ daily bloody massacres to avoid overcrowding, and I always plan to upgrade to an auto-breeding factory when I have the time/resources. Although I did this in Renewablock to keep the pesky brats from moving, gli...

Any chance you could move the fire down?

Even a hopper with an unprotected bottom should be safe as long as it is 6 or so blocks above the fire.

Re: Hardcore Spawn Request for Info

It's hard to tell because, aside from one instance, I have invariably been placed somewhere south of spawn, where there is a rather large jungle. Most of my spawns have looked 'samey'. Nevertheless, I can think of 6-7 unique places I have been spawned out of 9 or so deaths. I have spawned twice (non...

[Spoilers] [Legit survival play] Animals/Plants in the End

Nobody has talked about this at all yet on the forum? A cursory test of animals in the end has shown that They do not grow up. I myself can't think of any special use for this, but I'm curious as to what ideas other people may have. And it is possible that there could be more, undiscovered effects.

I'm pretty fairly certain that nothing in the game can react to sound aside from disgruntled players.

And responding to Note Blocks is different from responding to sound.

Funny you should ask, because I just killed him yesterday.

And no he doesn't, as few should expect him to; FC is not one to screw over people with older worlds.

Well, assuming the sun is at the equator, yes. Though if it was, the inside would probably be in a perpetual winter, and the outside in a perpetual summer.

Personally, though, I'd be a bit more concerned about the giant imposing tube of land thousands of miles overhead.

Kind of feels like a "duh" question, but I would rather ask now than feel stupid later if I'm wrong (don't know Java). When doing the decompile with MCP, the minecraft.jar has to have modloader and BTW installed prior for the functionality I'm looking for. Correct? To get to FC's hook's? ...

Don't beat yourself up too much if you weren't pleased with your first attempt man. On game development (versus just development)

I've been trying to write an addon for BTW, but as of now, I've pretty much given up. I suppose this can serve as anecdotal evidence that coming up with good ideas can be as difficult as implementing them. This post basically details the design process that went on behind what I consider to be a fai...

So, is it more feasible to spend an extended amount of time in the nether in BTW as opposed to vMC? I am considering making my nether base my 'main' stronghold where I spend most of my time. Apologies for not making that clear in the OP. My true intent just became clear to me. That's an interesting...

Truth be told, I'm kind of like you; ever since my first few worlds (back in beta 1.7 & 1.8), I've lost interest in building in the Nether, and just built a railway between portals (and maybe decked out a small area in a stronghold). However, BTW has added a number of reasons to give building in...

BDs are not intended to be used as universal block sorters. That is true. In fact it is quite possible that it is an exploit, how would one go about telling FC? If you find an exploit, Bugs is the place to go. But please do search first to make sure it hasn't been reported yet. In this case, I'm pr...

Re: Can you filter ore from stone?

One has at least one cobblestone and the other has at least one ore in all the spaces. BDs are not intended to be used as universal block sorters. Sorting items by using a full inventory is more or less exploiting inventory mechanics, and is generally frowned upon as a result. Also, blocks that ent...

Basically, they take blocks from much less noticeable places. Like taking one from the edge of a level of a hill, rather than leaving a hole in the middle. If I didn't take daily snapshots of my world, I wouldn't have noticed it.
