Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of April 29th)

Very many of the ideas mentioned here actually do not make sense given the statement. Running now causes something to occur that did used to happen before - but only when a variable was greater than 1.

Or vice versa.

You can't use it as fishing bait, either. And I'm kind of sad that you can't paint with it. well the main reason people are now trying to figure out if it can be aquired is because FC said a hint was that it could be melted down in teh crucible. as melting down a golden turd you created would simply...

As does anything to make sure your trail is damn well marked - clearly and unambiguously. And just practicing moderation in general when exploring complicated networks.

I always place torches on the right, and I still ended up completely and utterly lost.

Re: Skeleton, oh how I hate you! [Death Stories]

I must've been ambushed by skellies from completely out of the blue at least half a dozen times since my last death. Every time, I managed to cower my way over to the nearest wall and box myself in at the last possible second, giving my blood-soaked lungs time to dry... It's actually gotten worse si...

Re: Anyone else having issues with 1.5 crafting?

Ever since 1.5, I've noticed crafting, and general inventory management has weird delays and behavior. Anyone else notice this and/or have a fix? Crafting always was a gimmick feature in Minecraft. These bandaids they keep adding doesn't seem to be helping things. The weird delays and otherwise gen...

Here's the thing. I do understand why some of the more inventive types here (Noir, etc.) are in favor of it, though. And it isn't just about having more power; it's about discovering how to use that power. It's a new mechanic to explore and build upon and improve old ideas with, and I'm sure they wo...

This is begging for a snowball fight to see who can keep themselves from mistaking the snowbank for a pillow the longest. How could you effectively simulate heat loss otherwise. A person on top of a mountain in a winter should freeze but what if you're in a cave beneath the surface? Should a person ...

Re: game crashes when trying to take iron from a furnace

What version of BTW have you installed, and does it match the version installed on the server? That sounds like the sort of thing that would happen if the server had a more recent version than you; i.e., iron nuggets are in the furnace on the server, but your version doesn't have iron nuggets. Faili...

Re: 4.62 Balance Observations & Discussion

I installed 4.62 today and streamed myself finding and cultivating a village. This is on Normal mode (I finally switched), on a regular "small" biomes world. I was surprised to find that Leather Armor is indeed enough to protect you from some of the worst threats, so long as you don't acti...

Man, I was terrified enough of mobs already in 4.61! Hard mode certainly earns its name, now. Although, come to think of it, BTW is balanced around Normal, right? Perhaps it is high time I switched... Still, I'm not fully complaining. When I remember how I used to play way back when, when I was para...

I find that if you just hold the mouse button longer than it takes to eat one item, you'll be safe. I.e., begin eating the next item, then let go. It's the point right after eating - when the game is showing used to show the "item changing" animation - that seems to be the most problematic...

The only official documentation of the mod is the mcf op. I'd say there's an even more important and comprehensive piece of documentation: The change log, included with the mod in readme.txt. In this particular case, it only hints at the cooldown period (where HCS prevents "idiocy like intenti...

What's the fuss about? Stacking mobs is only possible by editing a mob's nbt data, it's not possible to stack mobs ingame, not even in creative. It's meant to give map creators the ability to create custom mobs ala the spider jockey. See, you say that now, but we all know that popular demand will d...

Yeah, when right-clicking, you can accidentally feed animals more than one wheat if you're not careful, as per this lovely quote from a moderator on Mojang's bug tracker: You can keep feeding animals wheat if you want to, that's not a bug, that's the player's choice >_> Luckily, animals fed by throw...

was it one of the baby sheep? Er... that question feels a little out of left field to me, but since they all probably grew up within 15 minutes of me taking that picture, I assume not? On another note, here's my sheep pen near spawn in my main world. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/56169534/img/mc/btwforu...
