Re: Tales of Woe: how has a feature of BTW killed your steve
Today, 3 feet from my base, I learned that leg and arm fracture can result in severe complications when attempting to do the doggy paddle.

Re: BTW Livestreamers
Alright, these last two deaths of mine have been very exciting, and I actually feel a bit guilty about not sharing the experience.
A stream will be up at http://www.twitch.tv/exphptv by the hour.
(That is, 9:00 AM EDT, or 13:00 GMT)
EDIT: It has ended.

Re: Better than Horses (No Alligators please)
I will admit that the sole purpose of shortening the body was fitting a smaller texture. :P As for the neck, that was a change I made due to technical issues before I got my hands on the model file. That issue is no longer an issue; I just left it that way afterwards because I thought it looked just...

Re: Tales of Woe: how has a feature of BTW killed your steve
Lightly equipped, I am searching an abandoned mine for rails and other bits of metal left behind by its past owners. As I have already twice this week, I took a step to the side without looking, and found myself down 20 feet below where the floor ends, in a dark hallway full of poisonous creatures. ...

Re: Better than Horses (No Alligators please)
VmG6WV15p44 To any potential texture artists: Please observe the new layout of the texture. The body is 2 px shorter, the breadth of the neck was reduced by 2 px. A lot was moved around to fit a smaller image. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/56169534/img/mc/btwforum/horses/horse.png I don't kno...

Seems to me every post in this thread says one of two things. "I keep it on and it feels wrong without it," or "I keep it off and I feel sick with it on."
I keep it off all the time, but you know what? I'll try turning it on.

Creepers. I need their balls, dammit.
I used to go after the armored enemies, but lately I know it isn't worth it; I've pretty much stopped using Iron Armor altogether until I get some big and important food sources, due to increased load on your hunger meter.

Re: Animal Suffocation Bug Info Thread
Well, I was expecting to be able to provide counter-evidence to the collision/chunk boundary theory based on previous experience with animals escaping from fence enclosures, but... The lines are chunk boundaries. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/56169534/img/mc/btwforum/deadanimals/suffocation.pn...

Re: Better than Horses (No Alligators please)
I'm notoriously bad at long term commitments, but that auto-generated model code is horrendous and incomplete. I'm currently in the process of bringing this horse to life.

Hey now, me and her aren't that close. So it does seem that tame pets CAN become The Beast (either that, or they swim like atheletes, because my place is pretty isolated). I will note that I am pretty sure that my dog did eat some rotten flesh as I was clearing out its prison earlier. Edit: Deleted ...

-snip- Kind of how I feel about it. If they get the Mo' Creatures guy to help out and add some creatures, that's great and all, but then what's the point of Mo' Creatures? To me, the bustling mod community is without a doubt a big part of what keeps MC as popular today as it is today. vMC doesn't h...

Re: Better Wolves Spoiler thread
Well, I must say, the inclusion of this feature has certainly provided me with a lot of enjoyment, for reasons known to some. Though I have heard about 15 wolves starting up a concert choir in the nearby forest on a full moon, which I interpreted loosely as STAY THE FUCK AWAY AND NEVER RETURN . Oh f...

Just now, I Hardcore Spawned into the middle of a forest at nightfall, and spent the greater half of my first night covertly attempting to steal a tree from underground.

Re: Better Wolves Spoiler thread
I wonder if orange gets a speed boost because it is half yellow. Maybe by mixing colors, you are also mixing the bonuses received. Although in my tests, lime green doesn't create the green dung, so I don't think it's that simple. Anyways, I just assumed they were faster because whenever I've got th...

Re: Better Wolves Spoiler thread
Seems yellow booties just make them run faster.
EDIT: Oh, and maybe orange? It's tough to tell because they never run in straight lines. :/ I need to set up a raceway.

Looks like people have already gone to great lengths to document the new attribute system. The player and mobs can have various "attributes", and equipment/tools can modify them. It's essentially like extending the enchantment system to encompass potions and... well, everything . One thin...

Re: Mining Methods
Aah, not this Phoenix mining business again... I don't worry about efficiency with strip mines any more. As far as I care, there is no best solution; there are only people who think they have found it. So I just stopped caring and started mining in a grid of 5x5 or 6x6 squares. My issue with Phoenix...

I noticed that you had beds at both ends of the railroad despite their inherent uselessness, and I felt really clever.
