Re: The wonderful Sophie's Choice of mod updates

it really also depends on what kind of builds you have already. for instance, maybe you've made a superamazing base that you're proud of and don't want to lose - in that case mcedit can come in handy, to refresh old chunks to get in new content - i did this with the islands of eldaria map a long tim...

my gods, another update already? and it shows up right as hardcore spawn puts me in walking range of my base with the most progression so far! https://bucket.bluegartr.com/939538c39e74502b88319d4e31c3bece_1280.png ...yeah, its not much. but at least it had enough iron for a replacement iron pick, an...

Re: Your favorite games of all time list

for me, its hard to pick, but id say: minecraft - the sheer modability of this game means it never gets old. bastion - the story telling, the aesthetics, the music, the gameplay.... WOW. hell, even the price was amazing. a real gem of a game. kerbal space program - ive over 800 hours played on this ...

looks like spacechem to me, only alchemical symbols instead of elements, and 6 directions of freedom instead of 4 (hexagons instead of squares)

although to be fair, that additional two degrees of freedom probably changes things up a bit.

while i can't say too much about this, i will say this guy seems to be on top of things so far. he's gotten this far with just free time after his normal job, which shows a sign of both dedication and a love for making this game. he also has a breakdown of costs for the funding, how much he needs fo...

batman: arkham asylum, batman: arkham city are off for 75%, and batman: arkham knight season pass for 66% off - they may be a bit old, but they sure are pretty looking. the entire series has impressed me quite a bit, other than the riddler revenge challange mode in the first and especially the secon...

to expand on gils comment, lets take a wreckage site from the Aurora. you clearly see a giant hunk of scrap metal thats undoubably chock full of fragments you can scan for new technology inside.... but its 300 meters down, which by default depletes your oxygen much faster past 100 meters. you need a...

agreed, subnautica is definitely a game i've played repeatedly with each update. it's definitely starting to feel like an actual game now, though granted it could be harder in some ways. then again i often play hardcore survival and usually wind up dying around the time i get moonpool built lol <.< ...

Discovered the horror that is slimes today, when a medium one snuck through the one block high hole i left in my hidey hole to see when night was over, and proceeded to terrorize me in my 3x3x2 home away from home. got out alive, but only barely. XD as a minor aside, the install instructions for the...

I also can't get BTW to start with the new minecraft launcher. to be precise, i was going to start up BTW, so went to install it using the new instructions (making a copy of 1.5.2 instance, renaming it and the folders inside to the folder name (example: betterthanwolves), editing the .json with note...

i will admit, for a dwarf fortress game, i'm enjoying myself a lot. most of them i kinda go "meh" after a couple hours and put it down, but this one shows promise even at this early stage of the game. ive also heard of a useful resource if you dig deep that you can use to purify water, tho...

Re: Soylent (But not green)

my main issue with it was the oatsy taste to it, a bit like raw flour or something. (i think this was 1.2) the grittyness wasn't too bad since i used a blender to mix it, but that oat taste was unpleasant to me.

XD i hadn't thought about the irony haha.

I'll admit though, i crave stories and new experiences like i do food... its like an intrinsic need. i actually can't seem to relax unless i read various news articles, a book, play a new game, or some sort of new information every day.

Re: Factorio: A game all about automation

oh, i don't disagree, but you're someone who has developed games and knows exactly what the costs are in exchange for multiplayer being added willynilly. the masses, however, do not. they just know that they want to play with their buddies and share good times with them, and to them the cost is tota...

Re: Factorio: A game all about automation

To be fair the multiplayer is extremely well polished and well worth the investment of time. It saddens me that EA games keep derailing their entire development process in order to jam multiplayer into existing designs, and people still consider it to somehow be "worth it". I'm hoping tha...

Re: Swamp Mobtrap - Item Sorting

you can also filter witches from other mobs by dropping them to say, a half heart or whatever, then having them flow to another drop that would easily finish most mobs off (say a 10 block fall or something.) let there be a delay between the two drops, so the witches have time to use health/regen pot...

i've been playing a lot of modpacks lately, and i feel like a lot of mods have practically ripped off parts of BTW wholesale. for instance, look at the foodbar in that picture. you even see the saturation value the same way as BTW fat, only yellow. it even goes down in small amounts the same way, an...

I tried playing the game, but with only 512mb video card and 6 gigs of ram, i couldn't get it to run even at the lowest setting except once. ; ; and that time it was incredibly laggy until i lowered everything to lowest settings, at which point it looked like the original tomb raider with dinosaurs....
