Re: Are melons OP?
Alternative suggestion to nerfing melons: remove obtaining melon slices by crafting. If dropping melons from a significant height is the only way to turn them into a edible product, the portability of them is drastically dampened without affecting their stay at home benefits. Reducing the food value...

Re: The Potion Stand Sucks
I'm 100% onboard with getting rid of GUIs, and putting that in words actually gives me a thought: Removing the GUI might be enough. Just right clicking with water bottles to mount them, add a single brewing ingredient by right clicking(even with a stack) which causes a particle effect, when it ends ...

Re: The Potion Stand Sucks
Setting up an array of brewing stands certainly goes a long way to alleviating the tedium that is the brewing experience. I've found with four stands I can get a loop that brews twelve potions per iteration without much downtime... But it's still a sizeable timesink in the portion of the game where ...

Re: The Potion Stand Sucks
While I agree that potion brewing could have a potential upgrade, I find it hard to see a version of cauldron brewing that would fit in with the mod. Dumping all the ingredients into a cauldron is already how cooking is handled. Chalk this one up to my lack of imagination, but stirring is only a han...

Re: How to survive the night in the newest versions?
If you dig a piece of dirt without the proper tools, all the surrounding dirt will become loose dirt. Loose dirt is what's affected by gravity. As far as making shelter with this goes, if you want to dig a hidey hole you'll need to have deep enough dirt. No real way to check this from the surface. Y...

I've had Better Grass on full blocks, so hearing that it isn't working out in the wild is curious... I'm using the following settings, can you recreate? https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/547594925001277465/833028752400580608/2021-04-17_13.13.38.png https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/5475949...

Re: Updated MCPatcher
I compared this with the original and it works ok. CTM , CIT, and Random Mobs etc all work. Better Grass still doesn't work, but that's been an issue with McPatcher for a while now Are you turning better grass on in the settings(second tab) menu? It is under the CTM section and is off by default. D...

Re: Igloos?
With the way colder biomes can take over some seeds, I've spent a fair bit of time in snow laden spots. I find being able to pick up snowballs is great for making slabs, and I've had a few occasions where I've built walls or foundations out of snow. Despite this, I've never tried building outwards w...

Re: Updated MCPatcher
I've updated the release to beta2, now it gets rid of those pesky download tags. Can't believe I forgot that change from the last time I started doing this. This should be working out of the box without needing to meddle with json anymore. Let me know if that isn't the case for anyone, I hope I've n...

Re: Updated MCPatcher
You shouldn't need to do any of that business with the launcher_profiles.json anymore. This version of MCPatcher understands the current format, and might even choke on the old one. The bit about removing the downloads section of the version json file is still relevant, but that's because I forgot a...

Re: Updated MCPatcher
Shouldn't require any install of its own, just a working copy of java . Yep, MCPatcher.jar is the standalone program to patch minecraft. That's what you'll download and run. If you need further instructions on use, Our very own Battosay has a tutorial on MCPatcher! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6...

Re: Updated MCPatcher
Ah, you mean the mods that are shipped with MCPatcher. I had misunderstood. I can't admit to having that much enthusiasm for the entirety of the graphical enhancements MCPatcher has to offer, it's the ease of setting up a new modded instance that gave me cause to pick this up. I wouldn't mind being ...

MCPatcher Revived
With the legacy launcher being phased out, the easy tricks to get MCPatcher working again are going to get less and less easy. So I updated MCPatcher to work with the current launcher. This will patch BTW into minecraft, no messing with json required! It also works with other addons that I've tried,...

Re: Hiracho's Fatty Foods Add-on
I can't say much to the motivations behind, but the play experience is changed early game in that hunting gets some added complexity in food choices. There always existed some differences between the forms of livestock, but Fatty Foods makes those differences greater, and at the forethought of your ...

I've been playing nine years and haven't memorized them all. That's with scrolling through the list twice for a laugh and all. Perhaps that's me not paying enough attention though. Although upon opening it now, it seems shorter than I remember. Has it been trimmed? Version in the lower left first th...

Re: [CommunityPatch] List of current unsolved bugs and unintended issues that should be addressed in a community patch
Bit of an odd one, but how about a small change to the titlescreen? For a while there was that big banner that prompted you to update to 1.6, and BTW strips that out entirely. I used to use this 'feature' as a way to check if I screwed anything up in the install at a glance. Now however, that banner...

Re: Fire aspect is an actively detrimental enchantment
Once you've got fire prot armour, it isn't so bad :)
But I'd actually like to see more 'curses' or negative enchantments on things, especially through the basic enchantment table where it's all random. Enchanting table super strong as is, and could use a nerf IMO

Re: Early Game Difficulty and Hardcore Spawns
I've seen players hardcore spawn, raid three temples and two villages on the way back and be better off from the death. Granted, that's very extreme, and not something I even dream of doing myself. I put forward that there is merit in encouraging the build up of multiple locations in the world throu...

I've actually had the thought "what if planting saplings was gated behind tilled earth?" before, which resonates with making planting crafting tables more difficult. I'm not sure it goes quite as far as you're thinking though. I have a vague recollection of FC wanting to rework grass growi...
