Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of November 27th)
If bringing metadata up to a full byte becomes a reality(and maybe even without it) would adding extra blocks to the same ID as things like dirt and cobblestone be an option? Kind of a different method of implementing extended block ID's with a different set of drawbacks. I know you're already jammi...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of November 27th)
I think the difference between design and development is lost during a lot of this discussion. BTW started out by implementing the best design solutions with the least development overhead attached. This does not mean that the least difficult option is always the best. Playing vanilla minecraft with...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of November 27th)
From my read through of the thread, I see that the sequel concept seems to be the primary choice. It allows all the benefits of going total conversion, and it takes the negatives of losing world saves and brushes them under the rug. It isn't getting rid of them, it's just moving them out of sight, a...

Re: Request a Design
Theoretically, if you killed the golems right after they went to the nether through there designated portal, you would avoid any ramifications from them being in extended nether conditions... But alas, I am pretending to have insight on that which I do not.

Re: Request a Design
I believe with a bloodwood farm you can actually do this without the netherack. Then clay becomes the only limiting factor.

Re: Reasons for ragequit
First it said MC was furry, and now i'm being attacked by lots of love. MC isn't furry? I don't understand. It's too late to make excuses about that one man. It's already been integrated into the splash screens, and it's only a matter of time before it makes a Groth-like appearance in the mod ;) Yo...

Re: Can place RS Torches and Torches on BD
Is there any reason to implement that other than convenience? From my perspective, being able to place torches directly onto blocks that have a GUI instead of using a workaround is a good thing, but it falls into the category of "It would be nice..." rather than adding something we don't h...

Re: Design Discussion: Anyone care about redstone emitting l
The only argument I have against removing the lightsource is that I have on occasion had a torch that was emmiting(or not as might be the case) light around a corner. I was using the light as feedback instead of the visual state of the torch. It wouldn't be to difficult to add another string of reds...

Re: held down keys stop registering after any action
I had this problem on linux about a year ago, and when I finally got fed up with it I found that updating java to the newest version fixed the problem. I'm assuming you're using windows? I'd try reinstalling minecraft as a whole(backup first!) with the new java. If that doesn't work, jump back to ja...

Re: Add ability for Block Dispensers to eject skulls as bloc
Frankly, the code for skulls is a hacky fucking mess due to a number of design decisions with regards to them that go against everything else in the MC code and design (like them having 16 possible orientations for example). I do believe signs are like this as well, are they not? The more time I sp...

This post has a couple pictures of the seed that I'm currently fawning over. DocHussey found it in large biomes, but I'm perfectly happy with it on the defaukt world size. My quest for wolves even found me my first jungle temple, which was awesome.

Re: Girlfriends and pornography.
To the best of my understanding, it's how the act of watching pornography is interpreted. If said girlfriend believes that the man in question is watching porn because he desires sex with one or more of the 'actors' then that could quite easily be construed into one form or another of cheating. This...

This might actually be the first time I use a texture pack if they really look as bad as you make them out to be. I suppose you can't suggest any particular pack without making it look like your favourite, can you?

Re: Hardcore spawn in SSP - your experiences
I suppose now would be the ideal time on how I deal with hardcore spawn. I enabled it on my single player world, and have had a number of deaths with it (most of them because I haven't started brewing fire resistance potions yet) but at most they seem to be a minor annoyance. I believe I mentioned i...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of October 23rd)
One of the changes I made last week is to restructure the Moulding blocks so that they each also include room for Pillars, Pedestals, and Tables in a single blockID. As such, you guys can expect several new decorative blocks of these types in the near future :) I've been trying to piece together wh...

Yeah... Isn't that your job? ;) Hehe...in a way, I guess it is, but I think the difference is in providing tools that the player can decide to use in whatever way they choose, and at any time, without my direct intervention. "When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything ...

Re: Vanilla Anvil inbound
To elaborate: salvaging poorly conceived ideas would likely be far more work than implementing new ones, and frankly, it's rather tedious. I have plenty of ideas of my own I want to get to, and the thought of perpetually fixing Mojang's mistakes instead of working on my own ideas is rather depressi...

Re: Upcoming Design Change: Buddy Block
That aspect may or may not go. I'll decide during implementation. I hope it doesn't, it's been a very handy pulse limiter. What you will notice however, is that the lever can be oriented in any direction, and connected to a block *not* neighboring on Buddy, and Buddy will still trigger. THAT is wha...
