Re: My Latest Build: Combined XP and Dung Farms.
Oh, it's gotten nicer looking in the last few hours: This was functionality first, and I've been cleaning up the aesthetics. For example, all those necessities crammed in the corner (bed, crafting table, furnace) are now rearranged to create a nice cabin room, and I've used molding blocks to add som...

Re: Raust's Mods Thread
Living in a jungle biome and harvesting trees by hand, if there's one combined tool I'd love to see it's a combined Axe/Shears. Or better yet, a tool that cuts wood and leaves, but breaks leaves for saplings instead of leaf blocks. Have it right-click to place saplings and you've got a forester's to...

My Latest Build: Combined XP and Dung Farms.
So this is my research lab, where I study the nature of the strange creatures who come out at night and the transdimensional travel that brings them here. You can't see it, but just off the coast from here is the underwater Nether-Henge. I'm convinced that figuring out this mystery is the key to ret...

I have a twisted form of revenge on people who piss me off. I make them owe me, and never, ever give them the opportunity to pay me back.

Re: Pepsi vs Coke
Pepsi is the only companies to successfully Brand me. It was the soda of choice among my family growing up, and I imprinted on it. I will NOT drink any other Cola, be it Coke or generic brand or whatever. Subjectively, when I drink Pepsi, I taste sugar and feel the caffeine. When I drink Coke I tast...

Re: Drunken musings (with swords)
Dancing with a sword is all well and good, provided you have the dance floor to yourself. You maybe able to get away with a partner if you stick with a waltz or foxtrot, but Latin or Swing is right out. A sword on your hip will deftly insert itself between Someone's legs, and a sword on your back wi...

Re: Anonymous wants to shut down the internet
My main problem with throwing weapons is it's a waste of a good weapon. I mean, I could throw my sword, but then my sword is over there, and I have to walk over, unarmed, and get it again. I'd rather walk over there with my sword, and hit you that way. I think the entire point of shutting down the i...

Re: Speech Recognition (aka Me Geeking Out)
Microsoft is pushing Kinect compatibility for Windows 8, so you'll basically have the motion and voice-controlled interface of your dreams with little to no initial set up. As I've gotten older I've come to realize that the main mistake Orwell made was in not anticipating that the installation of a...

Re: Morvelaira's News Compilation
This makes me feel pretty vindicated. I avoided using ExtraBiomesXL because while it was pretty as all get-out, I didn't want to use too many block IDs and possibly bork my worlds. As of right now I think I only use one other mod that adds a block ID at all, which is Zeppelin.

Re: What makes a good suggestion or idea.
I disagree. I think that would only encourage people to suggest more. I'd rather people were under the impression that frivolous suggestions were the fastest way to get banned, next to update posting. I want people making suggestions to fear the process. Perhaps some sort of pilgrimage, or 3 trials ...

http://www.somethingpositive.net/sp02092012.png I would never describe myself as a Brony, but I watch the show with my daughter and... It's better than like 95% of children's entertainment. And probably 75% of what's on TV in general. It's nice to see a kids show with more too it than "I shoot...

So aside from setting up a detector system, feeding more often than once every 5 minutes would just be a waste of meat?

Because then I have to babysit it. I can't think of a way to detect when a wolf shits automatically off the top of my head.

How often to feed the Wolves in my Dung Farm?
I'm currently putting together my dung farm in my new world, and I'm wondering what the ideal timing is for feeding the wolves. In my previous world I had them on a 5 minute timer, but I'm wondering if feeding them more frequently would result in superior output. What are your experiences?

Re: New SimCity -- coming 2013!
I remember fondly simcity 3000. I was taking a course in Urban planning, using "A Pattern Language" as the text. I decided to make a city in simcity based on the patterns outlined in the book for urban planning. I told my professor about it, and he told me he'd give me extra credit for pre...

Until they teleport to you.
I would give my fortune enchanted Diamond pickaxe for an option to turn off wolf teleportation. It's totally a hack to compensate for bad pathfinding, and it causes half the issues with having wolves.

Smartmove seems to read the ropes as a climbable object anyway. So you can still climb the rope.
