Re: New Release! (BTW V3.40)
Honestly, I think I may actually prefer to have my Nether overrun by giant Bloodwood tree(s).

Re: Turning Concentrated Hellfire back into Hellfire Dust
Before 3.40 I definitely would have agreed, but you can now split Soul Urn production and give Hellfire Dust a much needed rest. Not only that, but both the new method and Hellfire Dust are both ingredients for Dynamite->Mining Charges. I'm sure there will still be excess materials, but I'd say havi...

Re: New Release! (BTW V3.40)
Awesome update. My Nether is most likely beyond repair, but awesome update nonetheless. I especially enjoy the fact that this helps to balance out excess resources (not that I'm even to the point of mass producing any of the items in question). I was a tad worried at first that it might create some ...

I am crazy jelly of this. Although I'm still a bit too wet behind the ears with automation in general to make the jump just yet, I imagine this is going to be the inspiration for giving HCB a fully dedicated try.

I think paintings are one of the lesser appreciated things about texture packs, and I gotta say those are great. The one is horrible, but horrible in a great way. Nice stuff man.

Re: Jolicraft BTW (16x16p)
I blame you for my newly formed addiction to Jolicraft. I used to switch around and not really settle on anything but now I use it exclusively, even for all my non-BTW Minecrafting (which isn't terribly extensive, but still).
Thanks again man, I really appreciate the work you put into this stuff.

Re: A way to grow netherwart in the overworld
Yeah, I'd rather see some BTW mechanics added that are Nether-only so we have more of a reason to be in the Nether long enough to Nether Wart to grow. I'd rather just deal with it being bland for the time being until FC adds some more Nether-incentives. Edit: For now (or maybe permanently), I wouldn...

Re: Expensive repairing method that retains enchantments
I dunno, even though it can be annoying at times I think enchantments should stay as a consumable/temporary effect. Otherwise, once you've got the enchants you like it kind of obsoletes XP and XP farming. Losing enchants is annoying with the base mechanics, but I think it'll be a lot better once FC ...

Heh I'm liking that first change, though I dunno if I'm ballsy enough to kill all my villagers in this world without knowing what purpose they're going to serve officially :(. Especially loving the 'made all animals less annoying to deal with' updates. Thanks as always!

Re: BTW Pure Mods
Well, that depends on your opinions I suppose. Personally, by the time I got to Mining Charges with vanilla ore distribution I didn't really need them anyway, they were just a neat alternate way to mine. While it's true that with BOD I have even less need for mining, the level of need doesn't really...

Re: Mob Trap Fixes?
Well, if they're still spawning normally and just not moving you can at least still push them around, right? I assume mob traps would take a gigantic hit in efficiency, but at least it's still possible (not including the whole running back and forth to incite movement thing)? I dunno jack about codi...

Re: BTW Pure Mods
I'll be sticking with the default config for a while, but there's certainly a huge difference. I'm pretty sure I got lucky, but the first cave/mine I hit (right under my first shelter) has gotten me 3.5 stacks of diamonds, a few stacks of iron and more coal/redstone than I'll likely ever use. I'd sa...

Re: Lilypads & planters; a new farm type
They do have a use, though it's not a unique or even terribly useful one: you can now walk on lily pads. There's also the possibility that they'll see some use in the future either for brewing or gosh only knows what. I'd say it's not a priority or anything but I do like the idea. I'm not a fan of a...
Re: Music?
I usually go through phases, and there are at least a few songs or even a band or two that I like from practically every genre. Not in a big music mood lately, but I'd say right now I'd generally prefer to listen to some good old prog rock. Used to be a bit of an indie nerd but you really gotta stay...

Re: A liquid for the nether
I like the idea of it being more viscous and slow moving, like a one time use bucket (in that it creates a source block that flows, but also can't be re-bucketed) of lava that doesn't destroy stuff. For some reason the idea reminds me of when Beakman's World or Bill Nye (can't remember which) taught...

Re: M!C's News Compilation
For now, I think it's fine since trampling is really just an annoyance what with it being completely avoidable simply by moving slower (for the player at least--no real reason to remove animals trampling your stuff other than to appease whiners). However, I'd say farming as a whole is terribly bland...

Yeah, I agree. I prefer to wait until I have all the mods I plan on using installed and ready before I start a world. Re: Steel ruins mining
Eh, I don't think steel really affects mining for me. However, that's simply because I could care less about diamonds. I can see how it'd affect you if you're all diamond-crazy or something, but I'd say the problem lies more with the lack of uses for diamonds than with steel itself. I'm sure that's ...

Are you enjoying having 10-20x more space on your desk?
Can't say I miss CRT monitors or TVs. Last CRT TV I had drew blood every time I tried to move it what with it being 300 lbs and encased in sharp plastic.

Re: Attempting a Skyrim paladin archetype playthrough
Man, I hate how you can't really do this on your first playthrough. There are a lot of quests that you can accept that take a complete turn towards CRAZY EVIL with no real warning, so I feel obligated to finish them despite the fact that I don't REALLY want to beat an old dude to death twice with a ...

Re: Economy recipie for rails
I just can't help it: Reaching a speed of 141.62 kph (I figured kph would be more appropriate for MC) on steel rails should transport you to the Nether. Srsly though, can't wait for whatever you have in store for pretty much everything steel related. I've always liked the production process and I'm ...
