Re: "Anniversary Update" Speculation

Even assuming it's a new world... There's gotta be something pretty crazy going on there if he's using 30 block ids... I mean the nether only uses a half dozen and the end of course only uses 2. I think 30 block ids is more than how many the main world uses for naturally generated blocks! Eh, I don...

Re: "Anniversary Update" Speculation

Alas, I have never seen this video and only know the device from it's recreations. :( Still I suppose I can join in anyways. So let's start with an obviously wrong, but fun, hypothesis. It's a steam engine, one which eschews such petty and boring things as "boiling water" in favor of the p...

Re: Crucible tipping waterless millstone

I believe you've found an excellent idea here Qrunchmonkey; It solves a problem I've been having nicely. (Specifically, I believe you may have found an good way to keep items from falling on axles and other protrusions in a mill stone's tube)

Re: Morvelaira's Let's Play

I had that problem. I switched to another browser and it worked.

On a similar note, there does seem to be an error where Morvelaira's voice is a second or two ahead of the video.

Re: Portable Ice Discussion

My own two cents on this issue: With the change as it is, it feels like Block dispensers picking up Ice places Ice water flows "too low" on the tech tree (yes I'm aware that Block dispenser is, currently, at the very top). The issue is that I'd like to be forced to experiment with conventi...

Re: Morvelaira's Let's Play

I enjoyed the episode. It came out well despite the Fraps setback.

As a side note It must be said: the way you say "This tree, has to die." has such a wonderful cheery-grimness to it.

What can I say but in repetition?

1: You have an excellent voice, and 2: I eagerly await your next video.

Cannot place plocks after Dynamite explosion.

When throwing multiple dynamite, Once the first has exploded, if it takes out another thrown dynamite with itself, The player will not be able to place blocks until after the point where the destroyed Dynamite would have exploded on it's own. Have tested and also works with a Dispenser/Hibachi setup...

Block Dispenser placing Storage Minecart as Empty Minecart

When placing a storage minecart, A block dispenser will instead place an empty minecart. Conversion occurs while placing, a BD will pick up a storage minecart just fine. Using Mods: Better than wolves 3.61 and Modloader. Tested and this also applies to furnace minecarts. Apologies if this is working...

Ah, I had been worried about whether or not this was what was asked for. Whoops: My apologies.
I doubt the bug report forum is appropriate, since it would be a vanilla bug in any case.
Noted.

Request for repeater clock tests on world load: Results

Since you asked for reports of whether or not repeater based clocks still break on world load, here's findings: Made a 2 and 4 clock with repeaters, 4 clock worked when I unloaded and reloaded the world, 2 clock failed (Both sides had a redstone charge on). Only tested once in both cases. Design: r<...

Re: New Release! (BTW V3.60)

Well, the question of the day then is definitely "is it fixed"? I might take a dig in the code tomorrow, but if someone (or preferably multiple someones) can confirm before I do that, I'd be much obliged. If it is fixed, I'd hope that it would mean that block-updates that are scheduled fo...

Re: Morvelaira's MC News Compilation

Hmm, I think the reason they originally removed the ability to use silk touch on ice was exactly this, water in the nether. Which is kind of stupid imho, they could just fix that bug instead. If your cat pisses on your carpet you make sure she has a litter box, you don't give away your cat :P A bit...

Re: Panel on harassment of women in online gaming (at PAX ea

<shrug> Any anonymous venue will denegrate to the basist of communications and nothing is more base then lust and hate. I would disagree with you on part of that point: Any unmanaged (or unmanageable) community will eventually degenerate. Even a massive or anonymous community can remain friendly if...

Re: The harsh, cruel law of internet popularity

Heh, A problem from a high volume of ignorant posters? This sounds like something a spambot might actually be useful for.

Definitely not something that would happen but it would be deliciously appropriate if Better than Wolves' ended up automating it's MCF thread.

Re: Mining Tool: Cable rig

That's not really the issue that concerns me here. In the unlikely event FlowerChild has any interest in the idea I'm aware he'll be able to figure everything out from the first post and his own testing. The entire rest of the thread thus isn't so much for FlowerChild as it is for everyone else. In ...

Re: Mining Tool: Cable rig

If you from the sound of it you mean that a pulley would be wired to repeatedly pick it up and drop it to stamp a hole in the earth. Then it definitely sounds like some I would personally like. while I don't actually see this being implemented however. I don't think discussion hurts. True, but disc...

Mining Tool: Cable rig

So there's been a lot of topics on automated mining methods but a search hasn't shown this one. My apologies if it has been suggested but I missed it. The cable rig is simply a block with the following properties. It falls when unsupported like sand or gravel. It's solid. (So that when it stops, ite...
